• Welcome to Sunday Night Pickups: Fantasy Basketball Adds for 12/22! Finally, we are done and through with NBA Cup week, with Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks taking home the 2024/25 title. But it also means a return to our “normal” schedules, for both the NBA and fantasy alike. Today was a slow day, with only three games on the docket, but that doesn’t mean it was boring, as the Nuggets and Pelicans went to overtime in an exciting game.

Let’s take a look a look at the games and see who needs to be rostered today.

    Standard Leagues

    (<50% rostered on Yahoo)

Dillon Brooks, SG/SF, HOU (30% rostered, Yahoo)

Tonight: 37 minutes, 27 points (6-12 FG, 2-7 3PT, 13-14 FT), six rebounds, three steals, two assists

Analysis: Brooks is on a heater in December, scoring 14 points or more in seven of nine games, while hitting two or more threes in all but one game. Take it even further back and he has scored 13 or more points in 10 of his last 14 games, with multiple threes in ten of thirteen games, while chipping in three or more rebounds in all but one game. He’s basically a three category contributor, though he will go on a steals streak from time to time (eight steals in his last six games) and can super-heat and carry your team a few times a year.

T.J. McConnell, PG, IND (22% rostered)

Tonight: 23 minutes, 12 points (6-11 FG, 0-1 3 PT), 10 assists, seven rebounds, one steal

Analysis: McConnell is on a nice little run at the moment, scoring in double figures in nine of his last ten games, with four or more assists in eight of the games and at least one steal in nine out of the ten. He’s been a borderline top 100 player over the past month and a top 160 player on the year, though a backup PG who shoots 56% from the field with 10 points, 5.5 assists, 1 steal and 1.5 TO is more valuable if your build ignores threes or blocks. He is probably a bench mainstay the rest of the season and would see his value jump if Tyrese Haliburton were to miss time again.

Yves Missi, C, NOP (40% rostered)

Tonight: 40 minutes, 21 points (9-12 FG, 3-6 FT), nine rebounds, three blocks, two steals, one assist
