We have three weeks remaining in the 2025 fantasy baseball season, but for some, if not most, these last few weeks could very well feel like three years. If you’re competing for or currently holding a league title then you most likely want the season to end the day you read this. Conversely, if you have a team that is at or near the bottom of the standings then you probably want the season to end so you don’t have to worry about your team(s) anymore. If you fall into the latter category (I offer you my sympathy) I think the worst thing you can do is completely abandon your fantasy team, especially in a roto format. If you’re eliminated from the playoffs in a head-to-head league then there’s no point in checking your team anymore, that is unless the consolation bracket (if it exists) has some meaning to it. But for all you roto managers out there, at a minimum you should be setting your lineups until the season ends. I know that is easier said than done though, especially with football in full swing by the time this article is released. If you’re like me though, you’ve completed your football obligations and are now eager to start digging into fantasy basketball (yes, I may have an issue).
Before we get into this week’s recommendations, which also happens to be the last week we will be recommending merit-based adds, let’s first recap our most recent round of adds as we do each and every week here at Streamer Tidd-Bits. The only good news we have for our weekly recap is that we split our merit-based adds from the week of 8/19 – 8/25 (thank you Matthew Boyd). Our loss from that week, Zebby Matthews, crushed his two-start week but then got shelled by the Blue Jays, quickly turning a positive contribution to fantasy rosters into a negative one. Our matchup-based adds from the week of 8/26 to 9/1 were just as bad, if not worse, than Zebby’s stat line. Kyle Hendricks continued to be horrible, and Tyler Alexander couldn’t keep the handful of baserunners he allowed on base from scoring. Hopefully you were able to choose from more widely available options that week.
