It is the last week of the season and your last chance to pick up players to help your team in weekly leagues. Here are a pair of hitters and a red-hot pitcher who just might help your team.
Otto Lopez, 2B, Marlins (17% rostered on CBS)
Lopez is an everyday player who has been productive at the plate the last two months, raising his batting average from .225 on August 8 to .260. In that span he is hitting .313 (47-for-150) with three homers, eight stolen bases, 22 runs and 18 RBIs. The underlying stats make the improvements look legitimate. His BABIP .310 BABIP is just above league average (.291), his hard-hit rate is on par with the rest of the league and his strikeout rate is below league average. He is playing every day, having started every game since August 4, and the Marlins have no reason to sit the youngster the last week, making him a good middle infield option for the last week of the season.
League size recommendation: 14-team leagues
