Fantasy Football 2025 Week 3 Recap & Predictions | Mostradamus Review

  • Every week I will do a quick drive thru of the all the games and cover the relevant fantasy points.  I will look at things that might be fluky or here to stay and try and point everyone in the right direction for the future.  We never want to overreact to a small-sample size, but sometimes getting in too early is still better than missing the boat entirely.

    Bills 31 – Dolphins – 21

The Bills were poised to blow out MIA, but the Fins hung around and nearly drove the tying score before an ill-timed Tua Tagovailoa INT.  The Bills are unstoppable on offense and James Cook (19/108/1) dominated the run game for the Bills and averaged 5.7 YPC in Week 3.  Josh Allen was great against a terrible defense and was the QB4 with (213/3/0)  while also adding 25 rush yards.  Dalton Kincaid has made the leap and is easily one of the most reliable TEs early in the season.  Kincaid (5/66/1) was Allen’s ‘Go-To’ target in week 3. He recorded a team-high six targets and was able to haul in a TD.  The Bills’ receivers were disappointing in Week 3. Khalil Shakir (4/45/1) saved his day with a touchdown, but Keon Coleman (3/20/0) has b2b duds and is headed back the bench in fantasy lineups.  I’d only start Shakir next week with confidence.  Tua Tagovailoa (146/2/1) continues to show us why we can’t start him in fantasy. He completed 22 of 34 passes but averaged just 4.3 yards per completion and I wouldn’t roster in 1QB leagues and hopefully he’s your third QB in SF leagues.  There are some nice spots where you can rely on him, but not on the road against an elite team.  De’Von Achane (12/62/0) had a modest day on the ground but was a focal point in the pass game, recording seven receptions for 29 yards and while he didn’t break a big one, the volume is safe and makes him a top-10 RB each week.  Jaylen Waddle (5/39/1) and Tyreek Hill (5/49/1) both managed to squeak out safe fantasy production but being tied to Tua isn’t where you want to be.

Pickup of the game: RB – Oliie Gordon – Priority Med as a stash

    Vikings 48 – Bengals – 10

The Jake Browning chapter ended as quickly as it began.  Some GMs saw the potential with Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins, but Browning ended this game early and couldn’t even rack up stats in garbage time.  You definitely don’t want to start him in Week 4 vs. DEN.  Chase Brown had just three rushing yards on 10 attempts and behind that o-line and terrible defense, the opportunities to run aren’t going to be very prevalent.  WRs Ja’Marr Chase (5/50/0) and Tee Higgins (1/15/0) are beholden to Browning and Chase is going to struggle to be a top-10 WR despite getting volume every week.  Higgins might be in big trouble as he only saw two targets and the only thing that can save them is CIN trading for a vet QB.  Caron Wentz was solid with no pressure as he went 14/20 and was able to bring home two TDs.  He didn’t run much and Justin Jefferson was able to get going with five for 75, but Jordan Addison returns next week and Week 4 vs. PIT might not be the test it appeared to be in the summer.  Jordan Mason is as advertised and went bananas with 116 yards on 16 rushes for two TDs.  He is the RB1 in MIN regardless of what happens with Jones.  All he has to do is stay healthy.

Pickup of the game – none

    Browns 13 – Packers 10

This Quinshon Judkins era is officially in full bloom.  He went (18/94/1) while leading the Browns to victory behind 5.2 yards per carry against one of the best run defenses in the league.  I can’t be bullish enough on this guy and he might be the best rookie RB in a stacked draft.  Joe Flacco (142/0/1) wasn’t great, but you don’t want to start any QBs vs. GB at this point.  I didn’t even start Judkins, but won’t make that mistake again.  WR1 Jerry Jeudy caught one pass for 17 yards. TE1 David Njoku recorded five catches for 40 yards and had seven targets. TE2 Harold Fannin still had three catches for 25 yards on four targets. WR2 Cedric Tillman also sprinkled in 3 receptions for 26 yards.  This offense can pack a punch, but the defense is so good, it will be matchup dependent.  Jordan Love (183/1/1) was a big disappointment in Week 3 after looking good through two weeks and my only fear is the defense is so elite, there won’t be many shootouts.  On top of the WRs being banged up, GB is a great team that I don’t want any part of for fantasy.  Josh Jacobs (16/30/0) struggled on the ground in Week 3 but still led the team with 5 receptions for 44 yards and he might be slowing down and makes an ideal sell-high, but not before GB plays DAL next week.  Next week I’m starting Matthew Golden (4/52/0), Romeo Doubs (2/25/0), and Tucker Kraft (3/29/0) with confidence.

Pickup of the game – RB – Quinshon Judkins – Priority Maximum

    Colts 41 – Titans 20

Daniel Jones (228/1/0) continues to take care of business and remains a lock to start each week.  The Colts’ offense is for real and Jones has three top-10 finishes.  The only problem is the receiving core’s depth is deep anyone could go off in any game. Michael Pittman Jr. (6/73/1) is a lock in lineups as he is the WR1 and the offense is thriving.   Josh Downs feels (2/34/0) like a risky flex play going forward; he’s just not getting the same looks with Tyler Warren (3/38/0) heavily included in the game plan.  This feels like DET two seasons ago where the emergence of Jameson Williams killed Sam LaPorta.  Warren is pretty reliable and this offense so potent, that if he is your TE2, it makes sense to try and trade him or your TE1 to maximum points each week.  Cam Ward (219/1/1) still hasn’t done enough to warrant starting and in most leagues rostering.  He’s not even a start in SF leagues because he’s not running enough.  The coaching staff is bottum-three and there needs to be a change somewhere for this team to blossom.  Tony Pollard (16/45/1) saved his fantasy day with a lonely TD and this offense doesn’t get in the red zone enough for him to truly take off.  He’s still a must-start at least until Tyjae Spears returns.  WR Elic Ayomanor (4/38/1) is gaining momentum and is a must-roster player, but starting him is tied to Ward figuring it out.  Calvin Ridley only caught one of seven targets and he could be aging out of his prime.  Sell-low if you can.   The entire TEN team is a stayaway at the moment.

Pickup of the game – WR Elic Ayomanor – Priority Med

    Steelers 21 – Pats 14

Aaron Rodgers (139/2/1) did enough to win the game, but I’m not interested in starting him in fantasy. Lots of formats like Superflex, where he still holds value, but in the majority of fantasy football, he’s not relevant.  DK Metcalf (3/32/1)  is solid, but his WR1 days are over and Calvin Austin III is almost posting the same value at a fraction of the cost.  This offense is a fade, but if the defense keeps regressing, there could be shootouts, but I don’t want my fantasy team tied to Rodgers’ health.  Jaylen Warren only ran for 47 yards on 18 carries, but did lead the team with five receptions, securing 81 all-purpose yards.  He is the only part of this offense I would actively seek to roster and even though his TD was vultured by Ken Gainwell, there isn’t a threat to his carries or targets.  He’s a sneaky dual-threat beast.   Drake Maye (268/2/1) is a stud and this game is exhibit B why I pushed him all summer.  Maye also led the Patriots with 45 rushing yards on seven attempts and the RBs fumbling three times, there could be a sea change in NE.  Trevyeon Henderson (11/28/0) is still keeping quiet, but his name is going to get called just be patient or if possible pounce on an unsuspecting GM.  He is a massive, massive buy-low after this week. Hunter Henry (8/90/2) showed up in Week 3 grabbing two TDs, he’s worth rostering but he has this one blowup game every season.

Pickup of the game – WR Calvin Austin III – Priority Med

    Jaguars 17 –  Texans 10

It’s crazy how far Trevor Lawrence and CJ Stroud have fallen.  You can’t start either in almost any format right now.  The Texans have the worst offense in the league, but at least Nico Collins (8/104/1) was hyper-focused and looks to be the focal point of the offense. I can’t say the same thing for Brian Thomas Jr.  He went (2/55/0) and it’s even uglier.  Brenton Strange (6/61/0) did well this week, but I can’t recommend starting him going forward while it’s so crowded there.  Parker Washington (4/34/0) could be an interesting waiver add if Dyami Brown misses time, but Travis Hunter isn’t ready for fantasy primetime.  Don’t drop, but do not start him until he has two good games in a row.  The only players you can start on JAC are the running backs.   Bhayshul Tuten (6/21/1) and Travis Etienne (16/56/1) score TDs in back-to-back weeks and Etienne is must-start and Tuten is getting very close to a flex play.  They didn’t have any receptions and this offense is broken right now outside the running game.  Somehow, it’s even worse in Houston.  Christian Kirk (3/25/0) get involved, but it wasn’t enough to secure fantasy glory in Week 3 and he should be rostered, but not started.  I’m fading the entire AFC South except for IND.

Pickup of the game – RB Bhayshul Tuten- Priority Med for a stash
