Every week I will do a quick drive thru of the all the games and cover the relevant fantasy points. I will look at things that might be fluky or here to stay and try and point everyone in the right direction for the future. We never want to overreact to a small-sample size, but sometimes getting in too early is still better than missing the boat entirely.
Bills 23 – Texans 19
This was always going to be a slog as the Texans might have the best defense in the NFL. After the greatest fantasy day in history for a QB, Josh Allen couldn’t get an encore. He threw for zero TDs and two INTs while racking up 253 passing yards and another 20 on the ground. The Bills are their own worst enemy because they don’t have any legitimate weapons in the receiving game and with Dalton Kincaid out and Keon Coleman marginalized, it’s all Khalil Shakir. James Cook ripped through the Texans’ defense for 116 rushing yards and a touchdown on 17 carries, plus three catches for 13 yards and him and Allen are the best running combo in the league and it’s not even close. Shakir bounced back in a big way, catching 8 of 10 targets for 110 yards in Week 12. He set new season highs in both receptions and yardage after his worst outing of the year. Davis Mills delivered an efficient line in the win over Buffalo, throwing for 153 yards and two scores without a pick. The ride appears to be over and ideally CJ Stroud can return for the next game. Nico Collins caught all 3 of his targets for 55 yards and he was really taking off under Mills, so hopefully Stroud realizes how simple the offense should be and just hyper-targets his superstar WR. Christian Kirk posted five receptions on six targets for 54 yards and a touchdown and he’s viable if you are desperate, but it’s hard to know what this HOU offense is week-to-week. Jayden Higgins recorded four catches on nine targets for 38 yards and a touchdown and he’s seeing his role grow, but he’s not trustworthy yes.
Pickup of the game: WR – Jayden Higgins – Priority Low
Ravens 23 – Jets – 10
The Ravens are winning and that’s great, but it’s on the back of their defense, not the unstoppable offensive force from last season. Lamar Jackson turned in a quiet outing in Week 1 while completing 13 of 23 passes for 153 yards while adding seven rushes for just 11 yards and no scores. He’s not even looking to run right now, which bodes for Derrick Henry, but it handicaps the effectiveness of the offense. Derrick Henry handled 21 carries for 64 yards but salvaged his day with two rushing touchdowns against the Jets. He’s not the same guy as last season, but he’s still a monster inside the red zone. With two games vs. CIN coming up, if he’s going to dial it back, it will be in those games. Zay Flowers led Baltimore with five catches on six targets for 58 yards while no one else had even three receptions. The Ravens just don’t look or feel the same, but that could all change with one big game. The dual TEs were both useless and you can’t start either right now and if we’re being honest, they might not even be worth rostering. Tyrod Taylor completed 17 of 28 passes for 222 yards, one touchdown, and one interception and while he’s certianly more capable than Justin Fields, he isn’t lighting the world on fire. The BAL defense might have more influence in his muted game though. John Metchie caught six of seven targets for 65 yards and a touchdown and he’s a legit asset right now, but I still love Adonai Mitchell, who went two for 42 and is on the verge of breaking out. Breece Hall handled 16 carries for 44 rushing yards and added four receptions for 75 yards and he keeps on chugging. I would stash Isiah Davis because the Jets aren’t playing for anything and have a decent schedule to finish out the season.
Pickup of the game – WR – Adonai Mitchell – Priority Med

Bears 31 – Steeler 28
This was a smash matchup on paper for CHI and it played out exactly like that. Caleb Williams led the Bears to a 31-28 win, completing 19 of 35 passes for 239 yards and three touchdowns. DJ Moore finally came alive with two TDs and 64 yards with five grabs. He’s been one of the biggest busts all season and maybe this is a sign he is going to take off, but I don’t trust him. This was more a product of the poor PIT secondary than Moore figuring it out. Rome Odunze caught three of nine targets for 53 yards and while the targets are great, he’s not quite there as an alpha WR. Colston Loveland caught four of five targets for 49 yards and a touchdown and he’s pretty safe each week. Luther Burden also made an impact, securing three catches on five targets for 46 yards and he is growing each week and is more of a stash than a start, but it’s coming. Kyle Monangai had 12 rushes for 48 yards and scored a touchdown and it looks like he’s the clear RB1 on CHI and is a must-start player each week. The only problem is the CHI schedule turns over the next stretch and there aren’t many soft matchups like this one. Mason Rudolph completed 24 of 31 passes for 171 yards with one touchdown and one interception and while he was fine starting for Aaron Rodgers, he’s not viable in any format. Hopefully Rodgers is back soon because Rudolph means you can’t start any receivers. D.K. Metcalf returned in Week 12 after an ankle injury scare, finishing with a touchdown before tweaking his ankle again. He’s a decent WR2/3 as long as Rodgers is under center. Kenneth Gainwell rushed 10 times for 92 yards and caught six of six targets for 30 yards in Week 12. Jaylen Warren led the backfield with 18 carries for 65 yards and scored a touchdown. It’s pretty much a timeshare in PIT and both are solid starts while the schedule is fantasy friendly. Warren appears to be only used in the running game, while Gainwell gets dual-threat role and might be just as valuable.Â
Pickup of the game – RB– Kenneth Gainwell – Priority Med
Patriots 26 – Bengals 20
Drake Maye threw for a career-high 294 yards with one touchdown and one interception and he had the best matchup he will see all season. TreVeyon Henderson rushed 18 times for 66 yards and caught three of four targets for 15 yards and it looks like his role is secure for the rest of the season. Rhamondre Stevenson is the clear RB2 and looked terrible in limited work. Stefon Diggs was limited to just two catches on three targets for 20 yards and CIN is sneakily good vs. WRs, but terrible vs. TEs, so it was no surprise that Hunter Henry caught seven of ten targets for 115 yards and one touchdown.  Kayshon Boutte hauled in both of his targets for 15 yards and he should have a better matchup next week vs. the Giants. Keep rolling out the Pats until they have let down game. Joe Flacco threw for one touchdown and one interception and his run appears to be over. Hopefully, Joe Burrow returns next week and lights up the Ravens. Tee Higgins left with a concussion and should miss at least one week. Andrei Iosivas caught four of seven targets for 61 yards and he might continue to get more work without Higgins. He’s a decent play especially if Burrow returns. Chase Brown carried the ball 19 times for 107 yards and caught two of four targets for 23 yards and he’s looked great for the last month. Brown has been a must-start player for weeks now, but he faces a stiff test next week vs. BAL.
Pickup of the game – WR – Andrei Iosivas – Priority Med
Lions 34 – Giants 27Â
Oh my lord did Jameis Winston put on a show. It was inevitable after his first stinker.  Winston threw for 366 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception in Week 12. while adding a receiving touchdown on the play of the year. Jaxson Dart is probably back for this next game, but who knows. What a ride. Wan’Dale Robinson led New York in Week 12 with nine catches on 14 targets for 156 yards and a touchdown and he went nuts early and didn’t look back. This DET defense might be falling apart again. Tyrone Tracy Jr. rushed 20 times for 62 yards and caught three of four targets for 68 yards and he’s looking great as a bell cow back despite the Giants being a mess. Don’t expect these same box scores with Dart as he’s more Dart-focused which isn’t a bad thing. Jahmyr Gibbs rushed 15 times for 219 yards and two touchdowns, and caught 11 of 12 targets for 45 yards and one touchdown had possibly the best line of the season in a cake matchup and the game-winning TD in OT. You had almost no chance of winning if you played against him. Amon-Ra St. Brown caught nine of 13 targets for 149 yards and a touchdown and with Jameson Williams putting up a goose egg and no Sam LaPorta, it could be all St. Brown from here on out. Jared Goff completed 28 of 42 passes for 279 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception and with the DET defense backsliding, shootouts seem to be on the agenda. The Goff, Gibbs, St. Brown trio could be a league winning combo.
Pickup of the game – None
Packers 23 – Vikings 6
JJ McCarthy is officially a nightmare and might not start another game for the Vikings. MIN has put him in concussion protocol, which sounds like a soft benching and it could be Max Brosmer throwing ball over the next stretch. Brosmer has a lot of appeal in Super Flex leagues, but maybe now with the Seahawks up next. Aaron Jones rushed nine times for 41 yards and caught three of four targets for 16 yards and while he failed to get double digit targets again, MIN will lean on him with no faith in their passing game. Jordan Mason was solid with eight rushes for 42 yards, but the lack of explosiveness in the offense means few red zone opportunities and stalled out drives. This whole team is a stayaway until they right the ship, which is crazy. Justin Jefferson caught four of six targets for 48 yards and he’s been an afterthought almost all season. Jordan Addison didn’t even record a catch. The only player I’m next week if I can help it is Jefferson. Jordan Love completed 14 of 21 passes for 139 yards without any touchdowns and Love has regressed as fantasy QB. The Packers are a run-first team led by their defense and Love isn’t getting the volume to rely on. He can’t even be a safe bet to throw one TD. You can’t start him, but with DET up next and their pass-funnel nature, a shootout could get his juices going. Emanuel Wilson rushed 28 times for 107 yards and two touchdowns while catching two passes for 18 yards and this was the best performance by a GB RB all season. Wilson might be better than Josh Jacobs right now, but don’t expect GB to hand over the reigns easily. Jacobs should be back this week and Wilson goes back to stash status especially vs. DET.
Pickup of the game – QB – Max Brosmer – Only in SF leaguesÂ
