Hello fellow enjoyers of points leagues! I started a points league article near the end of the 2022-23 season and did one during the 2023-24 season, but some limitations due to a wrist injury in 2024-25 meant I had to focus my energy into other areas just to keep up.

This article won’t be the same as that one, but you can view this as your all-purpose stop to get updates for fantasy basketball points leagues on a bi-weekly basis.

My goal is also to get my fellow points league enjoyers thinking on a similar wavelength, so you can get better at translating 9-cat talk for your points format. Honestly, there is a ton of crossover; the only issue is whether or not you can filter out what is applicable and what is not.

The above table was my comparison for the ESPN Points System and the Yahoo Standard Points System when I did articles like this in the past.

We have a new format and system now too, referred to as “High Score.”

The High Score System is: 
Points = 1 fantasy point each
Rebounds = 1 fantasy point each
Assists = 2 fantasy points each
Steals = 3 fantasy points each
Blocks = 3 fantasy points each

The environment the rules create is a very unique one, but I will help you apply the knowledge regardless. I am in one High Score league myself and I’m happy to say I am off to a 2-0 start.

Points League Adds

Most of these will be applicable to all points leagues. If I am speaking about a specific format, I’ll add it in parentheses next to the player’s name.

Ryan Rollins

Rollins is an add in every league type. The big defensive stats work in points leagues, but what really makes him tick is the fact that he is scoring in double digits consistently and getting assists. He is must-roster, no questions asked.
