• One night of basketball and two fights. Not what you want to see on the court. Mo Gueye and Naz Reid were both ejected, but heavy suspensions are unlikely. Things went much further south in the Hornets-Pistons game, and you should expect Isiah Stewart, Miles Bridges, Moussa Diabaté, and Jalen Duren to all face suspensions.

Joel Embiid missed his first non-back-to-back game of the season. This still appears to be part of his injury management plan, with the All-Star break providing a logical window for recovery. So far, his availability this season has been very positive, and this pause should allow him to attack the rest of the season fully healthy.

Stephen Curry is set to miss the game against the Spurs and the All-Star Game, according to Steve Kerr. Dejounte Murray was a limited participant in practice and is ramping up toward a return. James Borrego said an update on his status will come after the All-Star break. Tyler Herro still does not have a timetable for returning, although Erik Spoelstra noted he is making progress.

The two standout stories of the night were G League related. Jayson Tatum joined portions of the Maine Celtics practice, making a return increasingly possible shortly after the break. Nikola Topić, returning from testicular cancer, got back on the court with the Thunder’s G League team. Tatum’s return feels imminent, and Topić’s recovery and return to basketball is a moment any fan will celebrate.

Now it is time to break down the top pickups, main storylines, and streamers ahead of tonight’s four-game slate.

    Top Pickups

This is the “general must-add” section regardless of the slate. If these players are being overlooked and remain chilling on the waiver wire, consider adding them to your squad.

    Jay Huff (16%)

With Ivica Zubac in the fold, we will likely see more Jay Huff drops. He should be added. Huff profiles as a player the Indiana Pacers can feel comfortable losing games with, and once the fantasy season winds down and we do the math on player rankings through April, Huff should be comfortably within the top 100 with some upside into the top 70. He belongs on rosters, especially after Rick Carlisle said he wasn’t expecting Zubac to play for a while.

    De’Anthony Melton (12%)
