Itโs been a quietly impactful 24 hours in fantasy basketball. In this cheat sheet, weโll break down key adds, streamers and storylines shaping the landscape. Ajay Mitchell left his game early and did not return due to a right hip contusion. If heโs forced to miss time, could this finally open the door for Cason Wallace to see enough touches to showcase his potential? Aaron Wiggins (groin), if healthy, should provide stable, across-the-board production while Jalen Williams is out.
Jakob Poeltl has returned to Toronto to see a specialist and it appears the Raptors may be in the market for a center. In the meantime, with Collin Murray-Boyles sidelined, Sandro Mamukelashvili should remain a reliable fantasy contributor. Myles Turner is currently day-to-day, while Kevin Porter Jr. may miss time with an oblique strain, creating increased opportunities for AJ Green, Bobby Portis and Kyle Kuzma, with Cole Anthony also emerging as a deep-league option.
Ben Mathurin looks to be nearing a return for a Pacers team short on quality depth. Cade Cunningham missed a game, leading to a Daniss Jenkins sighting, while Lauri Markkanen continues to battle illness and has already been ruled out for tonight. Letโs dive in.
Top Pickups
This is the “general must-add” section regardless of the slate. If these players are being overlooked and remain chilling on the waiver wire, consider adding them to your squad.
Ty Jerome (4%)
Listen, at this point, the ramp-up could limit the value he provides from now until the end of the season. That said, hereโs what we know: the Grizzlies invested in this player, Coach Iisalo plans to feature him, and his skill set can be very impactful for how this team wants to play. After this season, the team has only one more year of contract control. All of these factors point to strong motivation to see what they have and give him meaningful run.
We should be getting an update at any moment. It could be bad news, turning this speculative add into a drop, but itโs worth remembering that last season, in under 20 minutes per game, Ty Jerome was a top-125 per-game player in 8-cat leagues, with efficiency as his calling card. Itโs fair to expect some efficiency drop-off following an injury, but the opportunity for him to play 24-plus minutes per game is real. That alone suggests a top-100 floor, with upside for more if heโs featured and can handle a larger role.
That was the Grizzliesโ plan heading into the season. The motivation is still there and now is the time to add and stash if he is still available.
