We are about seven and a half weeks into the NBA season so we still have about two-thirds and some change left to go. Some injury-prone players are going off this year, while several fantasy staples are injured, off to a slow start, or both. Here are 14 players you should think about getting rid off before it’s too late, or picking up while their value is likely at its lowest point. Enjoy and good luck!

Trae Young

Young is not only injured, but is sitting outside of the Top 200 in 9-cat leagues through his first five games played. Nickeil Alexander-Walker has taken over point guard duties without missing a beat and things are even looking a little murky for when Young returns, as we don’t know how all the Hawks pieces will fit together since they’ve been flourishing without him.

But the bottom line is that Young was nearly a Top 50 player last season and he’s not going to take a backseat to anyone once he’s healthy enough to play. I could even see Young being moved in a potential deal for Giannis Antetokounmpo and he’s one of those players who is going to be a focal point of the offense, regardless of where he’s playing. He simply can’t play any worse than he did in his first five games and the fact he’s injured hurts his perceived trade value even more. There are rumblings about him returning before the end of this month and making a low-ball offer on Young now could end up being a league-winning move by the time all is said and done. Could an offer of Deandre Ayton or Jaden McDaniels bring back a player of Trae’s caliber? You won’t know unless you ask.
