2025 Fantasy Football Week 3 Injury Roundup

  •

James Conner – Cardinals – Ankle

Conner suffered an ankle injury in the Cardinals’ loss to the 49ers and was carted off the field. It was later reported by Adam Schefter that he will require surgery and miss the remainder of the season. Trey Benson will step into the lead role and becomes a priority waiver wire add if available. If not, Emari Demercado should slot in as Benson’s backup and is also a viable add as a desperation FLEX play moving forward.

Najee Harris – Chargers – Achilles

Harris suffered a non contact achilles injury in Sunday’s win over the Broncos. While nothing has been confirmed it is likely he will miss the remainder of the season. Omarion Hampton will now be thrust into full feature back duties despite his early season struggles. Hassan Haskins will take over the backup role and could be a good add for at least the time being.

Samaje Perine – Bengals – Thumb

Perine suffered a thumb injury in Sunday’s loss to the Vikings and had to leave the game. An MRI revealed that he will not need surgery and has not been ruled out for this weekend yet. If he is to miss time, rookie Tajh Brooks would be a great, cheap waiver wire add for not only now but later in the year as he could either push Perine for playing time as the RB2, or take over the role completely should Perine be moved by the trade deadline.

Tyrone Tracy – Giants – Shoulder

Tracy suffered a dislocated shoulder in the Giants’ loss to the Chiefs on Sunday night. Doctors expect him to miss 2-4 weeks meaning the Giants will turn to rookie Cam Skattebo and Devin Singletary to handle backfield duties in his absence. Despite reports that Tracy was solidified as the number one running back for the Giants, he was always going to be pushed by Skattebo for playing time and prior to the injury, it had been the case as Skattebo has been very productive early in the season. Now he has a chance to take the job altogether with Singletary playing a complementary role. Skattebo won’t be available on waivers as he was a very popular mid round pick, but Singletary could be there but will hold no more than FLEX value.

CeeDee Lamb – Cowboys – Ankle

CeeDee Lamb suffered a sprained ankle in the Cowboys’ loss to the Bears Sunday and is expected to miss at least the next two games. In his absence George Pickens will assume the WR1 duties for the Cowboys and KaVontae Turpin will slide into the number two role. Turpin could be a sneaky good add as a FLEX play as he has had at least 7.8 fantasy points in each of the last two games.  Another player who will benefit is Jake Ferguson, whose target share will surely increase with Lamb’s absence.

Mike Evans – Buccaneers – Hamstring

Mike Evans suffered a hamstring strain in Sunday’s Buccaneers win over the Jets. He is expected to miss three to four weeks. In the interim, Emeka Egbuka who was arguably the most popular name for a sleeper pick this year will slide into the WR1 role, but Sterling Sheppard could be a good waiver wire add for the short term as Chris Godwin and Jalen McMillan are working their way back from injuries.

Terry McLaurin – Commanders – Quadricep

Terry McLaurin left Sunday’s win over the Raiders with a quadricep injury and his status to play in Week 4 against the Falcons is uncertain. Should he not be able to go, Deebo Samuel will take over WR1 duties but with him likely unavailable on waivers, Luke McCaffrey and Jaylin Lane will likely get increased run as Noah Brown is out. However, neither received a big target share in the game Sunday and as of now hold only low end flex value.

Dyami Brown – Jaguars – Shoulder

Dyami Brown suffered a shoulder injury in the Jaguars’ win over the Texans on Sunday. Head coach Liam Coen has not provided any updates yet so we will have to wait and see. Travis Hunter and Brian Thomas Jr. will continue to be the top two wideouts on the team but if Brown misses time, Brenton Strange could be the beneficiary to see an increased target share. He is only 31% rostered in all of sleeper leagues and with most leagues having tight ends FLEX eligible, Strange could provide that value if Brown misses time.

Alec Pierce – Colts – Concussion

Pierce suffered a concussion and is currently in the league’s protocol. If he is unable to go, Adonai Mitchell would be the waiver wire move to take over that WR3 slot for the Colts. Pierce has been targeted 13 times in three games so far which is viable enough FLEX value to put in a waiver claim for Mitchell.

Colston Loveland – Bears – Hip

Loveland suffered a hip injury in the Bears’ win over the Cowboys and he has not yet been ruled out for Week 4. If he were to play, it would still be smart to look elsewhere for a tight end as Loveland has not provided any sort of fantasy value just yet with just six targets and three catches for 43 yards in three games. Players like Hunter Henry, Jonnu Smith, Pat Freiermuth, and Brenton Strange are all still available on waivers.

Michael Mayer – Raiders – Concussion

Mayer suffered a concussion in the Raiders’ loss to the Commanders. There was no update on him as of head coach Pete Carroll’s Monday media availability. Mayer is no more than a TE2 at this point as he is stuck behind Brock Bowers.

Noah Fant – Bengals – Concussion

Fant suffered a concussion in the Bengals’ Week 3 loss to the Vikings and is currently in the league’s protocol. Fant, who was acquired in a trade late in the preseason has been semi-productive for the Bengals and has been targeted at least five times in two of the Bengals’ three games, good enough for low TE2 value. If Fant is unable to go in Week 4, Mike Gesicki is available off waivers and should be claimed as he could be a great safety blanket for Jake Browning.
