Daniel Jones – Colts – Achilles
Jones suffered a torn achilles in the Colts’ loss to the Jaguars on Sunday and will miss the remainder of the season. Indianapolis will now likely turn to rookie Riley Leonard as their starter, however he is also dealing with a knee issue and his status for Sunday’s game in Seattle is in doubt. Anthony Richardson has been practicing but is not yet cleared to play. They do have Brett Rypien on their practice squad as well as the team has worked out 44 year old Phillip Rivers. While the Colts do have solid receivers, due to the uncertainty around the current situation as well as one of the more difficult matchups you’ll find against the Seahawks, it is best to steer clear of this situation. Either go grab a quarterback off the waiver wire or use a backup you already have rostered. This will obviously impact the fantasy values of Jonathan Taylor and Michael Pittman as well. While Taylor is a must start every week, this knocks Pittman’s value down to low end WR2/FLEX, it would be best to only start Pittman if needed and turn elsewhere if able.Â
Jayden Daniels – Commanders – ElbowÂ
Daniels returned to action for the first time in four weeks since dislocating his elbow against the Seahawks and reinjured the elbow on Sunday against the Vikings. He left the game and did not return. It is reported that Daniels is dealing with soreness and the team does not believe there is any long term impact with the injury but his status for Sunday’s game against the Giants is now in question. If he is unable to go, Marcus Mariota would take over as the starter and with a favorable matchup would be a good stream play for managers in need of a quarterback.Â
CeeDee Lamb – Cowboys – HeadÂ
Lamb suffered a concussion in the Cowboys’ loss to the Lions on Thursday and was unable to return to the game. He is currently in the league’s concussion protocol and will have to pass through it in order to play on Sunday night against the Vikings. So far he is trending properly and is on track to play, if not, look to pick up Ryan Flournoy who has stepped up as the Cowboys’ second wide receiver alongside George Pickens in Lamb’s absence.Â
Tee Higgins – Bengals – Head
Higgins had a monster game on Sunday against the Bills but started experiencing concussion-like symptoms after the game. He is back in the league’s concussion protocol just two weeks after exiting it. If he is unable to go, Andrei Iosivas will again take over as the Bengals’ number two wide receiver alongside Ja’Marr Chase in their rematch with the Ravens. Iosivas filled in for Higgins in their first matchup and was only targeted twice, but his lone catch went for 29 yards and a touchdown. He is a worthwhile add, but a very risky start.Â
DK Metcalf – Steelers – StomachÂ
Metcalf experienced stomach issues after the Steelers’ win over the Ravens on Sunday and stayed overnight at a Baltimore hospital for evaluation. He rejoined the team on Monday and should be fine for Monday’s critical game with the Dolphins. If not, look for Calvin Austin III to assume top wideout duties for the Steelers while Jaylen Warren, Kenneth Gainwell, and Pat Friermuth should all see an uptick in passing game usage. Â
