It’s the final week of the fantasy regular season. There’s plenty of reason to hit this week’s waivers like there’s no tomorrow, because for some of you, there won’t be one if you don’t get a win right now. Now, if you’ve already secured your spot, it doesn’t hurt to shore up your roster in case you get hit with an injury or two.
Quarterbacks
Tyler Shough, NO (8%) – Owned in just about eight percent of leagues, Shough has a nice schedule to finish out his rookie season. The Buccaneers, Panthers, Jets, and Titans aren’t putting up much of a fight in the passing game defensively, so there’s a nice opportunity for the rookie to earn a full 2026 season as the starter in an extended look. He’s thrown the ball 43 and 38 times the last two weeks, signifying that HV Kellen Moore isn’t afraid to let the second-round pick rip it. Kamara’s injury probably dictates some more pass plays being called, but we don’t yet know if Kamara is going to play, or when. If you’re needed a QB2 for the playoffs, have been streaming the position, or need a starter this week to get in the post season, Shough is worthy of a look. (FAAB: 10%)
Sheduer Sanders, CLE (11%) – Breathe. I’m not some Shedeur truther, or hater for that matter. In his two starts, he was the QB18 and 24 respectively. That, my friends, is called super flex QB2 numbers. The more work he gets with the starters, the better he should theoretically perform. The schedule is a dream, with matchups against the Titans, Bears, Bills (eek), and Steelers pass defenses to end the season. It’s important to remember that this time of the fantasy season is about assessing week by week. Who will be better today? Not who has been better all season. (FAAB: 5%)
Tyrod Taylor, NYJ (5%) – The same argument made for Sanders can be made here in terms of schedule. We already know who Taylor is as an NFL QB: serviceable, but unspectacular. In his three starts this season, he’s got finishes of QB9, QB17, and QB7 in that order. Actually, that’s better than I expected. Miami and Jacksonville make for a soft two weeks to help you get into and through the first week of the playoffs. The Saints aren’t a walk in the park, but also not that frightening. New England has been a pass funnel but a division rival is always tougher than on paper. (FAAB: 5%)
Running Backs
Tyler Allgeier, ATL (37%) – I’m not sure why he is still on over half of waiver wires everywhere. He is the direct handcuff to an elite running back who has also had the propensity to have weekly flex appeal with four straight weeks inside the top 36 running backs and eight total for the year. Four touchdowns in the last four games and has a score in seven total games. Those align with his usable fantasy weeks. Look for him to shoot up to a top end option should Bijan Robinson miss some time as well. (FAAB: 10-20%)
Chris Rodriguez, WSH (26%) – It’s looking more and more like C-Rod is going to be the primary ball carrier out of the backfield for the Commanders the rest of the way, and that in itself is roster worthy. It’s not a glamorous asset, but like Allgeier, Rodriguez has four usable weeks in a row, including a top 15 finish in week 9. (FAAB: 10%)
Devin Singletary, NYG (32%) – With Tyrone Tracy (hip) going down, the opportunity knocks for Singletary to be the bell cow following the Giants week 14 bye. He ended up as the RB8 last week, averaging 5.67 yards per carry and finding the end zone for the third time in three games. He’s not an exciting option, but matchups against the Commanders and Raiders defenses in the playoffs will make him palatable if it comes down to a few options in your flex spot. If you need to start someone this week to win, obviously this isn’t your guy. If you have a burner sport at the end of your playoff roster or need some more RB depth, this is a good option to look for. The bye week will also allow for a potential discount. (FAAB: 5-15%).
Wide Receivers
AD Mitchell, NYJ (4%) – Scoring his first career touchdown in his official breakout game in the NFL has him on this list, especially since he is going to be the top target on the Jets the rest of the way. Now I know he’s going to be catching passes from Tyrod Taylor (or Justin Fields if he sees the field again this year), but last week proved this team can actually move the ball a bit. He’s earned 25 targets in his three games with the Jets, cementing himself as an important piece for what this offense wants to do the rest of the season. (FAAB: 15%)
Jalen Coker, CAR (5%) – It’s been slow going since Coker’s return from an injury that cost him the first seven games of the year, but he had his best game of the year on an offense that is ascending. A bye week 14 lowers his priority if you need someone to start this week, but he does get the Saints and Buccaneers the first two playoff weeks. (FAAB: 5-10%).
Jayden Higgins, HOU (37%) – Earning five or more targets in give of the last six games has had Higgins in the WR2/3 range over that stretch. He’s been on the field for more than 50% of the snaps in seven of the last eight games after seeing the field less than half the time in the first four weeks. Slowly the Texans are trusting him more and more. He’s surpassed Christian Kirk as the number two option, react accordingly. (FAAB 15-20%)
Jayden Reed, GB (40%) – The expectation is that Reed should be coming back in the next week or two. He would jump to the second most talented receiver in Green Bay to Christian Watson, who has turned it on after his return from injury. The issue is always the usage with Reed, who the Packers seem to view as a slot only guy. Still, I’ll bet on the talent this late in the year at the cost of my waiver priority or some FAAB bucks. (FAAB: 30-50%).
Tight Ends
Brenton Strange, JAX (29%) – The real time to pick him up was a week or two ago, but alas, he’s still available. Before his injury earlier this year he was low key leading the Jaguars in receiving yards, He comes back and catches a 25-yard score from Lawrence and gets his second TE5 performance in a row. With two matchups against the Colts and a date with Denver left of the schedule, it’s quite friendly for tight ends. There’s a world where Strange ends up being a top 5 tight end from here on out. (FAAB: 20-40%)
AJ Barner, SEA (18%)– Quietly having four top 10 TE weeks under his belt, the second-year player for the Seahawks has what might be the easiest schedule for tight ends to end the season. He has certainly bottomed out, as there are other players the team prioritizes in getting the football (namely JSN, Walker, and Charbonnet), but tight end is always kind of a crapshoot. (FAAB: 5%)
