Joel Embiid

Shams Charania is reporting that Joel Embiid (left shoulder sprain) is hoping to make his return against the Pistons on Wednesday.

Embiid will miss Saturday's game but Wednesday is Philly's next game after that, though it comes in a two-game week. The big man is going through some basketball activity and will be re-evaluated on Monday. He's been sidelined for just over a week and a speedy recovery would be a huge boost to a Sixers team that still needs to get sorted out before the playoffs. Embiid's return will likely send Al Horford back to the bench.
