The Bucks will trade Eric Bledsoe, George Hill and draft compensation to the Pelicans for Jrue Holiday, per Shams Charania, while Adrian Wojnarowski is reporting that there will be three first-round picks in the deal.
The Pelicans were holding out for a haul considering Holiday's caliber, and three first-rounders could be significant, especially given the murkiness surrounding the Bucks' long-term future. What's more, Charania adds that the Bucks are including two future pick swaps in the deal as well. The Pelicans and Thunder appear to be in an arms race with future picks now. It's certainly a ton of futures to surrender for a player who is excellent but short of superstar quality, but if it convinces Giannis Antetokounmpo to stay then it'll be worth it in the long run. As for Bledsoe and Hill, both figure to settle in behind Lonzo Ball — assuming the Pels hold onto him — as neither fits New Orleans' timeline. More moves could be coming, but either way this is a fantasy downgrade for two PGs that were both standard-league options last season.
