Bam Adebayo

Bam Adebayo is a clear max player, but the Heat aren’t going to give him the big money quite yet and are going to make him wait a year, according to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst.

This is pure speculation at this point but it makes sense since doing so would allow the Heat to have more cap space in the summer of 2021 in order to chase an elite free agent. Adebayo made quite the leap this season averaging 16.2 points, 10.5 rebounds, 5.1 assists, 1.2 steals and 1.3 blocks, while he is in the mix for Most Improved Player. He will be a restricted free agent in the summer of 2021 and the Heat could match any offer for him, so it’s likely that he remains in South Beach for many years to come.
