Damian LillardPG, Portland Trail BlazersTerry Stotts said on Tuesday morning that there’s no reason to believe Damian Lillard can’t keep playing 40-plus minutes a night the rest of the way.
Lillard has played 44 and 42 minutes in the first couple games of the season re-opener, after missing most of the scrimmages with what was called a “foot” injury. The vote of confidence from Stotts is a positive sign suggesting that the Blazers were just playing it safe with their franchise guard. Lillard has looked good in these games and as a fierce competitor we should expect to see him continue playing heavy minutes as the Blazers are making a push for the playoffs.
