Bradley BealSG, Washington WizardsAmid the many unknowns facing the Wizards as they head into the offseason, GM Tommy Sheppard confirmed that Scott Brooks will be the Wizards’ coach next season, when Brooks will be in the final year of his five-year contract with the team.
Despite Washington’s 25-47 record, Sheppard lauded Brooks as the “connective tissue” in a disjointed season riddled with injuries to the team’s core players. The GM, who has officially spent just over a year as the organization’s top basketball decision-maker, reiterated that everyone, himself included, should have a year of a fully healthy roster to be properly evaluated. The Wizards will have to fix their defensive issues in the offseason but they look like one of the most interesting teams to watch next year with John Wall returning from his Achilles injury and joining Bradley Beal and a mix of young players with upside.
