As the season progresses into July, roles are more solidified, and it can be complex to speculate on trades. The trade deadline and injuries are sure to open up some roles, but let’s dissect some interesting situations that could generate some saves or provide ratio and K support.

Bullpen Adds to Consider

Joel Payamps (RP, Milwaukee Brewers)

Payamps is more in the ratio-reducer asset mold than a saves asset. Payamps has a 1.96 ERA, 0.99 WHIP, 3 wins, 3 saves, and 45 Ks in 41.1 innings so far in 2023. Payamps is ranked within the top 120 in standard cat leagues, and he seems second in the pecking order to Devin Williams. He could run into some ancillary saves.
