How would you rank the following?
Jordan Clarkson
Alec Burks
Trey Lyles
Justice Winslow
Bam Adebayo
Collin Sexton
Malik Beasley
Emmanual Mudiay
Bobby Portis
Kelly Olynyk
My current roster:
PG: Jeff Teague, Kris Dunn (SG), Goran Dragic (SG), Ricky Rubio
SG: Khris Middleton (SF), Jordan Clarkson (PG)
SF: Joe Ingles (SG), Trevor Ariza (SG), Otto Porter (PF)
PF: Jaren Jackson (C), Juancho Hernangomez (SF)
C: Karl Anthony-Towns, DeAndre Ayton, Willie Cauley-Stein (PF)
That looks like a pretty well balanced roster to me, though it could probably use another guy who could block a shot (since Ayton and WCS have been disappointing on that front). For that reason I might put Bam at the top of the list, since even when Whiteside is in the lineup and Bam is only playing minutes in the teens, he still usually picks up a block. And the upside is obviously huge whenever Whiteside is out. So I would drop Clarkson for him, if that's essentially what you're asking.
Portis is a tempting pickup to see what he does, but there's not much upside there, and he's probably going to be more of a popcorn guy than a shot blocker. Ditto for Lyles picking up Millsap minutes. None of the guards you listed would do much for your team. So yeah I think I'd grab Bam.
Thanks @david-jury. Yeah, I noticed i'm lacking in blocks as well and could even possibly stream someone week to week. By the way, it's only a 6 position daily start (PG/SG/SF/PF/C/U) which I forgot to mention. You also helped by stating that Clarkson would be the drop whom I was also thinking.
Portis is tempting but too many bigs in Chicago to really know what kind of minutes he will get.
Thanks again.
Yeah Clarkson is the obvious drop, and you could absolutely use that spot to stream.
Malik Beasley is a potential drop, too. Clarkson, Winslow, too. You have plenty of options if you want to stream
