I think Turner is the smart move, but Love's 90% FT on 5 attempts really helps float my FT numbers...he also gets more points, boards and 3s (at least currently). Turner has the elite block numbers and similar numbers everywhere else. We know Turner's just getting started and his numbers should go up.
Cleveland said they wanted to make Love more of a focal point of the offense, but we haven't seen much increase in his stats from last year to this year. He also has a bit of an injury history and higher chance for down days (or his minutes being limited) down the stretch. Then, you have the rumors that Cleveland is shopping for a true center like Deandre.
So, this is a somewhat easy call to take the Turner side, right?
If you wait a month, you can trade Turner for Love and someone else.
Hey Dan, I may have worded that weird. I'm actually the Love owner. So, you say take the Turner side right now, and run for the hills?
Oh yeah. Sorry, I read the beginning. Turner side. It's actually remarkable that he's still a top-40 guy with how bad he's played. His ceiling is insanely high.
That's what I'm thinking...it feels like he hasn't even gotten going yet, where I think Love is probably at his season peak right now at 18 in 9-cat. (at least last time I checked)
I'll see if I can snag Turner...or do you think there are other Turner-esque targets I should gun for first?
He's a perfect one because he's hovering just below the radar
Wow, this might be a perfect moment to try to sell him. In only 17 minutes so far tonight, Love's got 32 pts, 8reb, 1 ast, 2 steals and 4 triples. This could very well be his best game of the year if he doesn't sit out the second half tonight.
Love for Turner is a good deal for the blocks. December might be a better month for Turner. Hopefully.
