First, my league has been together for over a decade. We play 9-cat, H2H + playoff format. We have 12 teams with 11 roster spots, 24 game limit per week, 7 max add-drop transactions, and daily line up changes. It’s a fun league. The league is competitive because everyone is basically at the same level. We are not at the pro level but we are all pretty engaged in fantasy basketball during the season.
Now to the good stuff...
Last year, I needed to get some type of advantage against my competition. So, I decided to listen to podcasts starting with Mike G and friends at RotoWorId right before my draft. Later during the year I found you and Josh Lloyd. Lot of the information was great, and you def helped me win last year. Thank you!
About 2 months ago, in August, i jumped right into my fantasy basketball research for a draft set in October....crazy!!!! I never thought I would do this, but I wanted to begin the fantasy basketball year with a strong draft because it can make the biggest difference. To make this happened I started with Hoop Ball. I listened to all of your stuff while driving to work, going for my walk, before bed, etc. I compared the B150 rankings to Yahoo’s ranking to my Yahoo mock drafts trying to make sense of it all. I had a good idea what to expect in a draft.
Than a few days before my draft, Josh Lloyd was still ranting about the ESPN rankings that they are completely off. Well, my league uses ESPN! I double checked ESPN rankings, and I was shocked. During my draft last week all my competition was following the ESPN rankings. I saw players fall so far, and I came in like a hawk to snatch them. I had the biggest edge because of you, Hoop-Ball, and others. Thank you!
