At the moment, I'm stashing I Thomas and Z Lavine in IR spots. I have D Russell and J Murray and am looking to move them in a 2 for 1, or 3 for 2.
Any realistic targets I could go after? Some ideas include:
K Walker
K Lowry
J Butler
E Bledsoe
Other guard upgrades to pursue:
CJ McCollum
V Oladipo
(not really buy low guys tho, would have to give up much more)
Lastly, are I Thomas and Z Lavine even worth holding onto, or should I include one of them as well (if it gets me someone from above)?
Lowry has been awful thus far and is a prime buy low. If you can get Butler I would rather do that. It's hard to get Bledsoe since he just got traded and his owners were waiting for this all year.
If you can use a stashed guy to get a really, really good player, I'm okay with it.
It's going to be tough to get anything for Jamal Murray, just as a warning. He's been terrible. RW is even starting to turn on him and he was their golden boy.
Thanks fellas.
Dan, who's RW?
Would you rank targets as follows:
1. J Butler
2. K Lowry
3. K Walker
4. E Bledsoe
I got someone to bite on D Russell + J Murray for J Butler.
This is a no brainer, yes?
YES CLICK ACCEPT AND RUN FOR THE HILLS
Would giving up Russel for butler in a points league also a good deal?
Or I can do Russel and Schroeder for Jokic. Which would be better?
Points league makes this a tougher question but I think either one is a good move. I'd go Jokic because those 1st rounders just don't grow on trees.
Even if it was D.Russell for Butler straight-up, I would be on the Russell side every time. Everyone is calling Butker a buy-low and trying to pry him away, but I don't see him coming close to last year's numbers...he's got to share usage with Towns, Wiggins, Teague...and probably Dieng at some point. That's far from the ideal fantasy situation he had in Chicago where he was the only star. His numbers should go up some, but I don't seem them going up enough to make this trade. Russell on the other hand, has the ideal situation in BKN that Jimmy had last year in Chi Town, he's the star...and he really doesn't have anyone to take his minutes or touches. Are we honestly considering Spencer Dinwiddie hurting him...?? Russell is prime for his biggest year yet. He's young and has upside. Butler does not have upside in his current situation.
Let's all hop off the "Jimmy Butler ultimate buy low!!" Train at the very next station.
Just look at the averages of these two players right now. To me, it's Russell by a mile. Then let's consider that Russell's only playing 27 m/g right now, while Jimmy's at 35. Russsell's should go up to 32+ and all those numbers improve. Sure, that'll put him around 5 TOs per game too, but who really cares when he's helping everywhere else. Jimmy's at mediocre numbers right now while playing massive minutes. Where does he have room to make these massive jumps to get anywhere close to last year's numbers..? It's not happening. Shoot, a similar style player...Tim Hardaway Jr.'s doing better.
In regards to who I'd rather own of those four you mentioned, I would say:
1. Walker
2. Lowry
3. Bledsoe
4. Butler
(I'm thinking in terms of rest-of-season value, standard 9-cat)
