Tonight we have Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals featuring the Dallas Mavericks traveling to take on the Golden State Warriors. Given we are in the regional finals portion of the daily fantasy season, the slate will also include Game 2 of the Boston Celtics and Miami Heat series taking place on Thursday. The Warrors/Mavericks series is expected to be a high scoring affair with a current point total of 214.5 and the Warriors are home favorites by 5.5 points. The stars should come out to play in Luka Doncic’s Western Conference Finals debut as well as the debut of the promising young player on the other side of the ball in Jordan Poole. The Celtics are going into tomorrow with a couple of key players sporting questionable tags in Al Horford and Marcus Smart. The entire structure of your DFS lineups will likely change, allowing some room for late swaps tomorrow. As always follow along for the latest injury news updates throughout the day. Let’s dive into some of my favorite plays.

    Player Tiers

    Expensive Tier

Luka Doncic ($11,600) Despite being clear and away the highest priced player on the slate, Luka is the clear front-runner for playoff MVP thus far in the Western Conference, willing his team to a come-from-behind series win against the Suns. Averaging nearly 60 DFS points per game, Luka is well worth the price on this 2-game card.

Jimmy Butler ($9,500) On the other side of the country, the clear Eastern Conference MVP thus far in the playoffs belongs to none other than Butler of the Miami Heat. He continues to impress game-in and game-out in both the semifinals as well as the comeback victory in Game 1 against the Celtics where he amassed a whopping 73 fantasy points due to some incredible on-ball defense and free throw accuracy. Butler is almost $2,000 less than Luka, making him a fantastic option for balanced lineup builds.

Klay Thompson ($7,200) – Coming off a 30-point monster performance in his own right, the second splash brother is coming into his own on the Warriors at the right time. Thompson is starting to show confidence from the 3-point line, and I fully expect his strong outings to continue as the Mavericks will have to scramble to guard all of the outside shooting on this team.

Jalen Brunson ($6,800) – Brunson is often overlooked as the running mate to Luka Doncic, but his ability to push the pace and get in the paint and score over smaller guards has been a staple of this postseason. I anticipate another strong outing from Jalen tonight, taking much of the pressure off of Luka to delivery in the key moments. Priced under $7K is also a nice little bargain for a player with 40-point fantasy upside.

Robert Williams III ($4,700) – This play is really contingent on Al Horford missing a second straight game due to COVID-19 protocols. If Horford sits, this is a slam dunk spot for Williams to shine again in a heavy minute situation.
