Welcome to the DFS Delivery, the article that helps you build your DFS lineups and focuses on the overall best plays at the time of the writing.
As is usually the case on Fridays, we have an action-packed basketball night with 11 games on the docket! This means that we will have plenty of options to choose from and not a lot to worry about ownership since it is usually spread out on these big slates.
With that said, let’s check out my favorite picks at the moment.
Nikola Jokic ($12,600) – Jokic continues to be the best option for fantasy basketball. He has 60+ DK points in five of his last six games and he has a massive ceiling. Tonight he is going up against Valanciunas, in what looks to be again a tight affair, which will guarantee us 35+ minutes for him.
DeMar DeRozan ($8,500) – DeRozan is an All-Star Starter and facing his former team. Hmm, I am not a big narrative guy, but you gotta think he will be pumped up to go for this one. But, besides all that, San Antonio plays at the sixth-fastest pace in the league, which should lead to more possessions for Chicago and DeRozan and it’s at the bottom of the defensive rankings, so either way this looks to be an excellent spot at a very good price.
Wendell Carter Jr. ($6,700) – Most people would gravitate to Whiteside again tonight, but I am taking a different approach and going with Carter Jr. tonight mainly because this is a game I would like to target. We have two of the worst teams in the league matching up tonight in Orlando as the Magic take on the Pistons. Both teams are in the bottom 10 in Defensive Rating and bottom 5 in Offensive Rating. Carter Jr. averages 1.14 fantasy points per minute this season and he is going up against one of the worst defenses at the forward position in the league.
Desmond Bane ($6,100) – Bane returned to the lineup but the Grizzlies have a lot of guards on the sidelines for this game. This opens up minutes and opportunities for the young guard and since for the season he averages 1.02 fantasy points per minute, his floor seems to be 5x value. I especially like him since he does a lot of things on the floor besides scoring, so he is not just shot-dependent.
Will Barton ($5,500) – Barton is probable to play tonight and he has been producing well as of late, averaging 40 DK points in his last 3 games. He had 47 against the Nets, and tonight he is facing the New Orleans, and while the matchup is much less appealing compared to the previous game, at $5,500 Barton is in strong consideration for me.
Luke Kennard ($4,500) – Kennard’s minutes have increased as of late, mainly due to injuries but also because of the fact that the starters for the Clippers seem to be… less interested lately, which results in the Clippers getting into huge holes until bench unit comes to rescue them. Marcus Morris has already been ruled out for Friday’s game and this will secure Kennard’s minutes into the high 20s with him being a 0.9 DK points per minute guy he looks to be in a good spot to provide us with some much-needed value.
Bogdan Bogdanovic ($4,400) – Boggie is one of my favorite players in the league but I have to admit that he is a bit injury-prone. He will be on a minutes limit again tonight but he managed to hit value in all 6 games that he has played in 2022 and I expect that to happen tonight.
Jalen Smith ($3,400) – The Suns really do not like this guy right? The moment they get an extra body or two back, they just simply take him out of the rotation. On Wednesday, Biyombo started but Smith re-entered the rotation as well. and posted eight points, seven rebounds, and 21.25 DKFP in 19 minutes. He should remain the primary backup big man tonight, so we won’t need a lot from him to return value, and maybe he will get an extra stint also that will give us something even better than just value!
Honorable Mentions: Giannis Antetokounmpo ($11,800), Chris Paul ($9,000), Hassan Whiteside ($6,900), Cam Johnson ($4,700), Devin Vassell ($4,000).
