    (1) Spencer just had a top 50 week so hopefully you bought the dip. Over his last four games he has averaged 29 minutes, 13.5 points, 2.3 triples, five rebounds, 9.3 assists, one steal and solid efficiencies. He is just outside the top 100 on a per-game basis on the season in 23.9 MPG and with Ja Morant on the outs and neither Ty Jerome or Scotty Pippen Jr. having knockout potential whenever they return, Spencer is on the short list of waiver wire pickup of the year candidates.

    Quentin Grimes

    (2) It has been a slow week for Grimes but it’s still in top 150 territory and he’s still getting over 30 minutes per-game. Philadelphia is a packed house for the time being but with all the various injury risks eventually things will clear up and there is also the trade deadline to shake things up. He has been a top 90-110 value on the season (8/9) and it probably only takes one injury to have a great shot at those numbers and count the upside beyond that with each additional injury.

    Grayson Allen
    SF, Phoenix Suns
    SeasonTeamGPGSMPG FGMFGAFG% FTMFTAFT% 3PTM3PTA3PT% PTSREBAST STLBLKTO
    25-26 PHO 22 18 29.6 5.1 12.3 41.7 1.9 2.3 82.4 3.0 8.0 37.9 15.2 2.8 3.8 1.6 0.3 1.8

    (3) Allen has been active in the box score throughout the rust games and his four-game numbers since returning are bringing top 150 value in just 23.1 MPG and with 33.3% field-goal shooting. The key here is that he continues to have gravity in said box score whenever he is on the floor. The shooting and minutes will improve and bringing back top 60-70 value before he got hurt the needle moves between these two points. And with some early round value to start the season theoretically he could go above that, however, excluding that scenario top 100 value is a great bet and hard to find so he’s a must add player in the vast majority of standard formats.

    John Collins
    PF, Los Angeles Clippers

    (4) What a difference a month can make. Once the Clippers and Kawhi Leonard started going nuts and Ivica Zubac got injured throughout the middle of this sample, Collins started bringing back top 12-24 value over 12 games (9/8) with averages of 28.4 minutes, 16 points, 2.2 triples, 5.8 rebounds, 1.1 assists, 2.8 combined defensive stats and a totally unsustainable 66.4% shooting from the field and 79.2% from the foul line.

He is one of the more frustrating on/off switch players of the past five years but right now the switch is on, and the regression expected shooting the ball is certainly a threat to tip things over into the wrong direction but a late round expectation seems like a lock here in the short term and as you can see he can start to get to mid-round value pretty quick.

    Day'Ron Sharpe
    C, Brooklyn Nets
    SeasonTeamGPGSMPG FGMFGAFG% FTMFTAFT% 3PTM3PTA3PT% PTSREBAST STLBLKTO
    25-26 BKN 35 3 17.7 2.9 4.8 59.8 1.5 2.4 64.3 0.2 0.8 21.4 7.5 6.1 2.5 1.1 0.5 1.6

    (5) Sharpe has a month inside the top-90 in just 20.8 MPG with 8.5 points, 7.4 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 1.9 combined defensive stats and 60.6% from the field.

The most interesting part here is that both he and Nicolas Claxton are running a ton of offense and between the two of them over the last month they are combining for seven assists per game most likely on the basis of Brooklyn not having any real ability outside of Michael Porter and Cam Thomas to create shots. Thus, they rely heavily on dribble handoff back cut screen game action with simple passes but it’s the best action they can create.

For his part, Sharpe has become a better finisher this season and while he doesn’t get blocks as a traditional big he is providing enough steals to bring the value. With Michael Porter ready to be traded at any time now, the trio of Nicolas Claxton, Sharpe and Danny Wolf will be the only remaining big men on the roster and that means Sharpe is a great bet to maintain mid round value and might have even top-50 upside in a perfect scenario.

While Brooklyn might ruin this in the end as they tank, they would need to start grabbing players from the G league and signing 10 day guys or Sharpe would need to suffer an injury for this to not pan out for folks. He has quickly emerged as a top pick up.
