Check back every week as we rank the TEs ahead of their potential matchups. The position is as deep as ever and you will want to know who start and who to bench based on matchup’s, projections and sometimes just gut feel.
RK PLAYER NAME TEAM OPP Blurb 1 George Kittle SF KC Kittle comes in at my top spot for a third week in a row and for good reason. He has scored a touchdown in four consecutive games (two TDs last week) and the icing on the cake is that he plays KC who allows the most points to TEs through the first six weeks. 2 Brock Bowers LV LAR It is rare the top two tight ends on the season but that is the case this week. Bowers ranks as TE2 on the season and has the second best match up for tight ends this week in the Rams. In addition to that Davante Adams was finally traded to the Jets so he should remain the Raiders top offensive weapon for the rest of the year. 3 Travis Kelce KC SF Since Rice has been out of the lineup Kelce has topped 15 fantasy points (PPR) in each of the last two weeks. I could see that trend continuing this week against San Fran. 4 Trey McBride ARI LAC McBride ranks as TE4 on the year without scoring a receiving touchdown. He plays the Chargers this week and I think it is only a matter of time until he finds pay dirt. 5 Evan Engram JAX NE If someone dropped him when he was injured go scoop him up. He caught all 10 of his targets for over 100 yards last week. Assuming he can remain healthy he should be a startable TE in fantasy the rest of the way. 6 Kyle Pitts ATL SEA Pitts has had two solid games in a row recording at least 70 yards in each of his last two. Given the state of the TE landscape he is worthy of a start. 7 Sam LaPorta DET MIN LaPorta only had one catch last week, however it was also the best game of his season so far. The reason is because that catch went for 52 yards and a TD. He has regressed since his rookie year but still worth starting at least for now. 8 Zach Ertz WAS CAR The reliable old man finally cracks into the top ten of the weekly rankings. He had is best performance of the season last week with four grabs for 68 yards. 9 David Njoku CLE CIN He had seven targets last week but turned it into only 31 yards thanks to the inaccuracy of DeShaun Watson. With that being said top wideout Amari Cooper has been traded to the Bills so Njoku may become the defacto number one option in the passing game for Cleveland. 10 Tucker Kraft GB HOU After two big weeks Kraft came back to earth with only two catches for 13 yards last week. He will have a tough time getting back on track in a difficult matchup vs Houston this week. 11 Pat Freiermuth PIT NYJ He has a TD called back last week, which left his final stat line looking pretty abysmal. If the Steelers do choose to start Wilson this week it will be interesting to see how that impacts his value. 12 Dalton Kincaid BUF TEN Kincaid has not lived up to his lofty draft stock this year. Additionally, he faces the hardest matchup for tight ends and Amari Cooper joins the Bills this week. He is a back end TE1. 13 Mark Andrews BAL TB Is Andrews back? He had 66 yards and a TD last week. There are better options out there to start but if you need to start him he has the chance to ride this momentum into a potential shoot out vs Tampa Bay. 14 Dalton Schultz HOU GB If there is every going to be a week where Shultz breaks out it would be this week. Collins will still be sidelined and the Packers give up the third most points to tight ends through six weeks. 15 Cade Otton TB BAL He had six targets last week and scored. He is more of a dart throw at this point but the Bucs seem to have one of the better offenses in the league. 16 Dallas Goedert PHI NYG Goedert left last week early with a hamstring injury. His status is worth monitoring throughout the week. If you are relying on him make sure to snag Grant Calcaterra as a back up plan if he sits. 17 Hunter Henry NE JAX With Drake Maye under center he went for 41 yards and a score. This could be the QB change he needed as Brisset was clearly not getting it done. They play the Jags in London this week. 18 Isaiah Likely BAL TB He saw his highest target volume since week one but sadly that was only four targets. He is not someone you can rely on at the TE position especially with the Ravens run game looking so strong. 19 Noah Fant SEA ATL He had his best game of the season with six grabs for 63 yards last week. It is going to take more than one week to turn skeptics into believers in his case though. 20 Tyler Conklin NYJ PIT Now that the Jets got Davante Adams I would not recommend playing him as he is pushed further down the weapons chart for the offense. 21 Colby Parkinson LAR LV Parkinson will also see a reduction in his target share if Cooper Kupp returns this week against the Raiders. 22 Mike Gesicki CIN CLE He is not a recommended play especially since he is dealing with a hamstring injury. Erick All could take his job sooner rather than later. 23 Taysom Hill NO DEN Hill was not practicing on Tuesday, which does not bode well for his chances to play in Thursdays matchup vs the Broncos. 24 Juwan Johnson NO DEN He had his highest receiving yards total of the year last week with Spencer Rattler under center. Definitely has potential to build off that performance going forward against Denver this week. 25 Jonnu Smith MIA IND Smith had a good game before their bye. But given the rough play of the Dolphins QB's he is tough to trust. 26 Chig Okonkwo TEN BUF He is not a recommended play similar to the rest of the Titans receiving options. 27 Erick All Jr CIN CLE All leads the run of rookie TE's in the ranking. Although he is eating into Gesicki's workload he is yet to take the leap to fantasy relevance. 28 Theo Johnson NYG PHI He had three for 30 last week but Philly typically is a challenging matchup for tight ends. He is a possible stash in deeper leagues. 29 Ja'Tavion Sanders CAR WAS Sanders is an intriguing option in deeper leagues. The rookie is clearly getting more involved in the passing game and was the second leading receiver for the Panthers last week behind Dionte Johnson. 30 Grant Calcaterra PHI NYG This play is pending on the health of Dallas Goedert. If he sits this week Calcaterra can be a viable fill in, he had four catches for 67 yards last week after Dallas went out. 31 Dawson Knox BUF TEN Knox caught a TD this week but still is not a viable fantasy play, especially with Cooper coming to town. 32 TJ Hockenson MIN DET His window to return has been opened and he was spotted at practice Monday. I still think it is a longshot he plays this week but he is someone to keep an eye on. Click here to join us on Discord! And Follow us on Twitter by clicking here
