Check back every week as we rank the TEs ahead of their potential matchups. The position is as deep as ever and you will want to know who start and who to bench based on matchup’s, projections and sometimes just gut feel.
RK PLAYER NAME TEAM OPP Blurb 1 George Kittle SF SEA Kittle comes in at the top spot for a consecutive week. He played through a rib injury last week and tallied eight receptions for 64 yards and a touchdown. They have a quick turnaround this week with the Thursday night game so be sure to check his practice status throughout the week. 2 Trey McBride ARI GB Trey McBride returned to the lineup last week and put up a solid performance. He has potential for even more this week in their potential shootout against the Packers. 3 Brock Bowers LV PIT Through five weeks Bowers leads all TE's in receptions and yards. The only reason he isn't in the top spot is because I expect a lower scoring affair between the Steelers and Raiders this week. 4 Jake Ferguson DAL DET Ferguson has consistently produced at least 11ppr fantasy points in each of the last three weeks. I expect that to continue this week and he has potential to find the end zone for the first time this year in an explosive matchup vs Detroit. 5 Sam LaPorta DET DAL If someone told you before the season week 6 LaPorta plays Ferguson and Ferguson will be ranked higher going into the matchup not many people would believe you. That is just the type of season it has been for LaPorta. I do think he eventually breaks out of his slump it is just a matter of when. 6 Dallas Goedert PHI CLE Goedert should be rested coming off a bye week. Despite already having his bye he still ranks as the TE4 on the year. He is a good start this week vs Cleveland. 7 Tucker Kraft GB ARI With Love back under center Kraft had his second big game in a row. He has catch and run ability and should be able to put it to good use this week vs Arizona. 8 Pat Freiermuth PIT LV Freiermuth said after the loss to Dallas last week that he is not going to complain about targets and will continue to do his job and block regardless. Hopefully that reverse psychology actually earns him a few more targets this week vs the Raiders. 9 Dalton Kincaid BUF NYJ Another week of the Bills needing a top pass catching option and another week of Kincaid not stepping up. In addition to his lackluster start to the season the Jets also present a touch matchup for tight ends. 10 Kyle Pitts ATL CAR Pitts had one of the best games of his career last week with seven catches for 88 yards. With that being said I'm not all in on him yet, but if you need a start there are worse options this week. 11 Cole Kmet CHI JAX Kmet had almost 60 yards on three catches last week. Caleb Williams seems to be finding his groove and Kmet could be a beneficiary. He is a viable start if in a pinch. 12 Tyler Conklin NYJ BUF Robert Salah was fired this week, in all honestly it's only up from here for the offense. They currently have the same amount of points they did through the first five weeks as they did when Zach Wilson was starting. 13 Isaiah Likely BAL WAS Likely is still the fifth rated TE in fantasy through five weeks. He is running more routes than Andrews and this could be a high scoring affair against Washington. 14 Zach Ertz WAS BAL Ertz is sandwiched between his two TE opponents in the rankings this week. He only had two catches for ten yards last week but the Ravens give up the 4th most points to the position through five weeks. 15 Mark Andrews BAL WAS Andrews had four catches for 55 yards last week but Jared Goff still has more receiving TDs than him on the season. Start at your own risk. 16 Dalton Shultz HOU NE It seems like Nico Collins will miss this week. That would increase Shultz value although he is not much of a ceiling play he does provide a good floor. 17 Cade Otton TB NO He had three grabs for 44 yards last week and with Baker looking like a borderline top 10 option at QB there could be enough passing production to spread around. 18 Mike Gesicki CIN NYG It looks like now that Tee Higgins is back, Mike's role in the offense has significantly diminished. He should be left on the wire. 19 Brenton Strange JAX CHI Strange has been okay filling in for Engram but by no means is he considered a quality starter at the position. 20 Hunter Henry NE HOU There is some speculation that a change at QB could be coming in New England. If that is the case rookies tend to target their TE more as a safety blanket. 21 Noah Fant SEA SF Fant is not involved in the offense enough to be considered as a starter. In fact there is very little reason to even roster him as a back up at this point. 22 Juwan Johnson NO TB He had five catches last week but only 31 yards. Would not recommend starting this week. 23 Taysom Hill NO TB Hill will likely be questionable due to a rib injury this week. Too risky of a play to commit too. 24 Erick All Jr CIN NYG He had as many catches as teammate TE Mike Gesicki but sadly that number was only two. There are just too many mouths to feed in Cincy especially with target hogs Tee Higgins and Ja'Mar Chase. 25 David Njoku CLE PHI Njoku returned last week but only recorded one catch before being taken out for the remainder of the game due to injury. I would say it is unlikely he suits up this week. With that being said he could hold some additional value in the future if Cooper is traded and Watson is benched. 26 Evan Engram JAX CHI Until he plays I can't rank him in the top 20. It seems every week there is some optimism he plays but I will believe it when I see it. 27 Chig Okonkwo TEN IND If Levis or Rudolph starts it doesn't matter he is not someone you want to rely on in fantasy. 28 Jordan Akins CLE PHI He scored a TD last week so anyone who played in DFS was happy. Other than a DFS dart throw he has no appeal in fantasy leagues. 29 Theo Johnson NYG CIN He had a good game last week with five grabs for almost 50 yards. The rookie TE is someone you want to keep an eye on as he makes his debut in the weekly TE ranks. 30 Dawson Knox BUF NYJ With Kincaid failing to take off for the Bills some have speculated Knox could step up. However, so far that has not been the case. 31 Luke Musgrave GB ARI Kraft is the locked and loaded TE1 on the team but if he gets injured maybe Musgrave has some appeal. 32 Hayden Hurst CAR DEN Not a viable fantasy play at this point.
