In this rematch of the infamous World Cup 2023 match where Japan scored 4 past world champion Spain, both countries have a chance to support history. The Japanese team will either justify last year’s win and showcase the dominance of their women’s soccer team, or Spain will rectify one of their biggest and most shocking defeats and prove it was a fluke. Spain has had one of the most successful seasons in international soccer, with their sole focus on achieving Olympic gold, led by superstars Aitana Bonmati, Patri Guijarro, and Alexia Putellas. Regardless, the disciplined play and counterattacking success of the Japanese team should still be haunting the Spaniards slightly. While I strongly believe that Spain is much closer to victory here, I’m going to go with both teams to score.
