One of the most intriguing matches of the opening week will be between West Ham and Aston Villa. West Ham has provided Lopetegui with a much-improved squad, offering alternatives in many positions compared to previous seasons. After underwhelming performances from Antonio and Ings over the last two seasons, they’ve added Füllkrug to their lineup, who is expected to start. Guido Rodriguez could also make an appearance, while Bowen and Kudus are already guaranteed their spots. With Paqueta’s creativity, they have the potential to score goals. I believe the London team will strongly contend for a spot in European competitions.

Aston Villa, under Unai Emery’s management, had a great season last year and is a strong candidate for a top-six finish this season. Although they lost Diaby, Bailey remains on their roster, and Rogers, who they signed from Middlesbrough last season, delivered an impressive performance during the preseason. Expectations for their striker, Ollie Watkins, are always high. We can expect a 90-minute match filled with goals, so I’ll be looking at both teams to score and over 2.5 total goals.
