Welcome to Thursday Night Pickups: Fantasy Basketball Adds for 1/2! New year, new fantasy basketball pickups! I won’t lie to you, the pickups are pretty slim tonight. With a few blowouts throughout the night, we saw a glimpse of what some players could produce if given the chance. Let’s get into it!

Standard Leagues

Jaden McDaniels, F, MIN (26% rostered)

Tonight: 35 minutes, 19 points (6-of-12 FGs, 3-of-3 FTs), four treys, eight boards, two assists.

Analysis: The Celtics chose to ignore McDaniels to focus on Anthony Edwards, which to me seems like a good choice. McDaniels did punish them by hitting most of his triples, but that won’t normally be the case. If you want to pickup McDaniels hoping this shooting run continues. be my guest. For me though, he typically doesn’t do enough with boards nor defensive stats to be rostering in standard leagues.
