Game Total 248Key Storylines
Khris Middleton is finally playing consistently good basketball! He’s been the 67th-ranked player over the past month, which is huge for his fantasy managers and the Milwaukee Bucks. Middleton was looking pretty rough, playing limited minutes, and not proving to be an integral part of his squad’s offense or defense. For years, he was the Bucks’ best pick-and-roll conductor, but now that he has Damian Lillard, maybe Middleton can play more within the flow of the offense and be more reactive, roaming around the mid-range and perimeter and cutting to the basket, and functioning as a secondary and/or tertiary creator. This would be the ideal setup for the Bucks to make a deep playoff push. Speaking of Lillard, he’s averaging 25.4 PPG, 3.2 3PG, 4.4 RPG, 6.7 APG, and 1 SPG. He’s also been as clutch as ever. The Bucks and their fans can’t really ask for too much more from their newly acquired superstar. Giannis Antetokounmpo is dominating on both sides of the ball, as per usual and Brook Lopez is stretching the floor and swatting shots like he’s been doing ever since he arrived in Milwaukee years ago. The team’s main problems are that Bobby Portis has his ups and downs and Malik Beasley goes super hot and super cold; also, they have literally zero depth. This real-life team’s problems do not affect fantasy managers in any way, whatsoever. But a reminder, just in case you’re unsure: Neither Portis or Beasley are must-roster players — just ride with them only for as long as it makes sense for your squad.
Here’s the CliffsNotes summary of what’s been going on with the Spurs so far this season: Victor Wembanyama is incredible, Devin Vassell is very good, Keldon Johnson is pretty good, Jeremy Sochan is quite promising, Tre Jones is underutilized, Zach Collins no longer has solid footing, the rest of the team kind of sucks, the front office is not serving Wemby properly, and Gregg Popovich has become way too lax. You’ve probably had plenty of moments of frustration if you roster any Spurs, other than Wemby — but even if you have him on your squad, you’re probably still frustrated with what the organization is doing to and with him. There is no excuse for what is going on down in San Antonio lately.
