Joel Embiid’s shot failed him against the Grizzlies on Friday, going 3-of-10 from the field on his way to 10 points, six rebounds, two 3-pointers and two turnovers.

It’s just scrimmage number one for the Sixers, and this game should not carry much weight when assessing Embiid’s future prospects as the center next to Ben Simmons in the power forward slot. Embiid picked up three fouls over 12 minutes and will be better in the next one. As long as he is healthy Embiid is going to eat, and it doesn’t matter who is joining him on the court.
