Hey Guys,
I switched from Rotoworld to Hoop-Ball this season because of Bruski & crew. However I am finding that UI is a little hard to get use to and timing of the content is not standard.
Here are some honest opinion as I do hope Hoop-Ball succeeds.
1: I'm use to the daily dose and season pass content being there in the morning. This forms habit with your users and we all know the power of habits in marketing. It's 10am and there no daily dish, no equivalent 'pick-up of the day'. This type of content is most valuable after the games are wrapped up or very early next morning. This is why I pay for premium content
2: Smarter Website. Code a bit of AI into website so a paying member doesn't have to be bombarded with draft guide & season pass ads. Also paying members don't need to see the opening blurb on the status Hoop-Ball website. We are already sold on the product. Just deliver the content. The real-estate on the splash screen is very important. Captivate with your stellar content not a stale blog blurb and redundant ad
3: Love the forum concept and Dan's diligent work ethic. Just needs a bit of fleshing out like voting (for drops, trades ect.) and let me change my avatar. It could be i'm old but i can't figure out how to change my profile pic.
4: Feedback / support. I shouldn't be doing this in Forum. I couldn't find an e-mail for support. Create a support e-mail and / or invest in a chat bot. Many e-mails / chat questions can be automatically answered by chat bot or FAQ
Hope my criticism has been constructive.
Best,
As a designer I agree the site could use some love. I find the thing that annoys me the most is being signed out constantly. If I have to sign in 5-6 times a day, or more, something is wrong.
Hey guys - points taken all the way around and I appreciate you taking time to make the feedback. We are currently developing HB 2.0 and addressing each of these points, but immediately looking at the caching issue that has been at the root of the login issue (for anybody reading clear your browser cache/cookies, close/open your broswer).
But yes, everything from Ux (Pickups of the Night are here: https://sportsethos.com/tag/pickups-of-the-night/, but you can't easily find them) to in-house procedures (we're late on the Dish today) are under heavy review right now and especially the stuff we can get to right away (being on time for content production, e.g.).
We went from private development to bringing on in-house development in a very part-time capacity to now we have just added about 3-4 devs in a bigger capacity so in short, we recognize the issues and we appreciate the feedback and plan on knocking this stuff out. THANK YOU for your patience as we go from toddler to a foul-mouthed 4 or 5 year old!
Good stuff, TokyoG - thanks for the constructive feedback. We plan on taking over the world, so this is great to know!
good stuff and good luck guy. I can imagine the growing pains ... and you guys have to do POD casts too ..
We actually do have a nice assortment of podcasts (I host one) ...
