Just inquiring about the latest Josh Hart blurb which stipulates that he should “be able to return in the near future.” Every other news update and indication to this point has suggested that he is likely out for the rest of the season or going to miss significant time. A lot of leagues have move limits and the wrong add/drop can mess up a whole seasons no we depend on these for accurate news, so it would be appreciated for said news to be as accurate as possible. With that being said, does Hoop Ball staff know something that everyone else doesn’t and Hart is actually coming back very soon?

Thanks,

I have also heard he will be out for a while and miss most of the rest of the season which is why I discourage adding him unless you are in a very deep league and even if he does come back I don't think he will have a very significant role.

@Zkutchin, that information in the blurb was inaccurate and I take full responsibility for that as I was the one writing the blurbs at that point in time. Hoopball does not have any intel that Hart will return in the near future and I just missed that piece of news. I really apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and the blurb has since been fixed.

Appreciate the candor and correction, apologies if my post was a little verbose. This is my go-to news source for all things fantasy hoops related so I just wanted to make sure I wasn’t missing anything (I had Hart on my team and recently had to drop him). Keep up the good work.

He is set to be re-evaluated sometime around April 27 after undergoing surgery to repair a torn ucl in his left thumb. Let's say best case scenario he returns very soon after that evaluation (Say May 1 and this is pure speculation) that would allow him a little over two weeks of the regular season and about nine games. There is no guarantee that he returns at that point in time so I wouldn't recommend rostering him unless you have multiple ir spots in a pretty deep format. Because it's not a lower body injury, I could see him still playing decent minutes for the team off the bench as he's still able to keep up his stamina during the rehab process. He's easier to hold in roto due to the fact that head to head leagues are in playoffs or entering playoffs and he won't be playing for at least the next few weeks. It will be interesting to see if james johnson "leapfrogged" hart on the depth chart as Johnson has performed well over the last couple weeks for the pels. Hope this helps.
