Hey guys, got a general question here:
In 9 cat roto, how do you go about addressing weakness in the "steal" category. Looking at the total "steals" over the season, O.G. Anuoby is the only real outlier with 35 steals --> then you have D. Murray at 25--> then you have a huge conglomerate of players ranging from 17-20. OG and D Murray are both 1st/early 2nd rounders.
If your team is doing well, is it advisable to plan trades based on "steals"? Or is "steals" a category that is too volatile to really plan your draft/trades around - and thus a category you just sort of go with the flow.
Currently, my team is sitting at #1 with steals being my worse category (3.5/12). Here's my roster. Do you recommend I trade for guys like O.G. and D. Murray?
PG: Trae Young
SG: J. Holiday
G: M. Conley
SF: J. Tatum
PF: B. Ingram
F: D. Vassell
C: J. Allen
C: M. Turner
Util: I. Hartenstein
Util: J. Murray
Bench: J. Hart, Al Horford, J. Vanderbilt
IL: M. Fultz
jaden ivey
is he really as good as recent couple games or fools gold?
worth dropping anyone of j grant, a simons, hardenstein, melton?

sorry, long question/thought. I'm debating going all in on a punt pts in 9 cat 12 team roto (auction).
like now. not wait for a bit to feel out my team. today. I'm WAY behind in games played but my pts are going to struggle almost no matter what
core dudes would be Conley, CP3, BroLo, Nurk, Mobley
my points guys right now are AntEd, Herro then.... Lamelo and Kawhi - so that's not working out
C will be bench guys and by committee of J Smith(IND) IJax/Kessler/Clarke (prob dropping tonight) but I'd just try to stream my other Cs through the year as I'm WAY ahead of schedule on blocks. of course hoping for a Pacers trade and have 2 solid PF/C options on hand
I just traded away Hartenstean for Jerami Grant then immediately decided I should consider ignoring points so I'd try to flip Grant and each of my points guys for well rounded players strong in %s - Old Man Squad types for sure
* I do have an offer to me of Zion for my BroLo right now - I could accept that and throw this whole plan out the window but I kind of like the thought of just not playing catchup in pts all year since I've dug such a hole and unless Kawhi and Lamelo play every game at 20-25 pts/gm, I'm just not going to make that up and will likely just chase pts at the detriment of other cats

14 team 9 cat h2h 13 player+ 2IL rosters
Team built around Lilliard, Dejounte, Jarrett Allen, and Mobley. Can probably get LeBron and Jamal Murray for WCJ+Maxey+one of Hield/Mobley/Tobias Harris.
Pull the trigger on one of these?
Barring LeBron injury news from tonight, I would only consider the Mobley deal, and I still take LeBron side barring injury
Edit: I mean I would still give up the Mobley version, but it's close. I would easily give up Tobias or Hield versions
I would be getting the LeBron side and have all 3 of these trades offered to me. Assuming last nights injury isn’t major, which of Mobley, Harris, or Hield would you prefer to give up?

Looking at your team, jrue holiday is really the only player for you that is a true positive. If you want to shore up steals you might want to consider moving someone like Brandon Ingram

He is probably going to be outside the cut line in 10 team leagues. And 12 team leagues he definitely should be added, but your bench is too strong right now

You know me. I am 100% on board with a soft punt in points. The only thing I would suggest is waiting until Edwards gets cooking before you try to trade him. Similar deal for LaMelo, or you could just hang onto him because he will be strong in a bunch of other categories as well
Another ugly game from HARTENSTEIN, that's 2 straight games now. Still have confidence he'll bounce back from this? without Mitch Rob it's been awful. 9 cat leagues. Thanks
Any latest news from Kyrie Irving? Do you think he can come back after the 5 game suspension? Thanks. Drafted him 2nd round in a 9 cat league, it's been frustrating.
@dbesbris to improve my steals category, would you consider trading away Ingram for Jaylen Brown in 9 cat roto? I think Ingram's ROS fantasy is actually slightly higher than Brown's in a vacuum, but his steals is definitely better. Thoughts?
I would be patient with Hartenstein, especially after a blowout loss like last night. Thibodeau may decide to shake up his rotation again. Give it at least a couple more games. He's still top 100 for the season so it may just be a brief bad patch.
Kyrie looks to be on the right track to returning from what I've seen. He had a 'positive' meeting with Adam Silver a few days ago. Everything points towards him complying with what they want him to do. So it looks like he'll be back after the 5 games. If not I'd say at least one or two games extra at most (just in case he needs more time to finish everything they asked of him to allow his return to play).
No, you don't need to. I'd say that Brown is a slight increase over Ingram with your steals, but 0.2 or 0.3 is all you are really improving by making that swap. I'd say it's a reasonable swap overall, but it's not really a huge boost.
@keskeskes Anyone in your opinion I can trade for using Brandon Ingram in 9 cat roto? I'm currently 1st in my league but my weakest score is steals (only 5/12). Thanks!
