In a points league, is it normal to get penalized -1 for missed shots ? and centers are obviously better since majority of their shot attempts are layups ?

In a points league, is it normal to get penalized -1 for missed shots ? and centers are obviously better since majority of their shot attempts are layups ?
I have seen leagues with that format, and yes usually those leagues tend to give some extra value to bigs.

It's almost like the points league is bringing FG% into the mix a little bit. Points leagues tend to favor ball-dominant guards, so this is a way to even the playing field a bit with bigs who score around the rim but don't have the ball in their hands as much.
