What is the outlook on Jalen Smith? His floor appears safe as he played 29 mins in Turner's first game back. Statistically, he profiles as a big that won't hurt you in FT% which is nice. Would you say he's about as valuable as other mid-round centers in Poeltl, Valanciunas, Wood, or Nurkic this year?
Among those other names you listed I'd probably have JV and Poeltl above Jalen and then Smith ahead of the other 2. I love him, though. He was on my list of targets if folks recall.
Depends how you look at it. You had to spend an earlier pick to get the other guys you listed. Smith was available late in drafts. That makes him more valuable in terms of pick vs. fantasy output. Those other guys will probably end around where they were taken. If you got Smith, pat yourself on the back. Not only do you have a midround center, but you also got whoever you took in the 6th/7th round as well. Hopefully Smith gets more comfortable as the season progresses!
