He’s a drop at this point right? Watched the last few knicks games, and last time it was foul trouble that cooked his minutes, but to be honest they just don’t run anything through him.
I don’t know how to check usage numbers but he would be at like 3%. They never use him in the pick and roll. Ever. This team is smothering him.
Maybe when Mitch Rob is back and he gets to run with the bench guys again he improves but it’s disgusting at this point.
He's not a usage guy. He's a rebounder that can pass when the ball moves through/past him. His positives are in boards, assists for a big, steals, blocks, FG%... hoping for other stuff will lead to a letdown. That said, no idea what the hell happened tonight. Plenty of mins but not even getting boards.
@dbesbris yeah for sure, not expecting 15-20 usage. But they literally never use him. I watched the full last 3 games, and fouls aside he just doesn’t ever touch it. I don’t get why they play a genuine 5 if they’re gonna run Julius ISO’s every time.
He actually sets good picks and then rolls, and Brunson, RJ, Julius just stand there jab stepping the defender lol
He was better when Mitch Rob was there because the bench guards can actually play a PnR
Edit to add: he’s like 40% Offensive:defensive rebounds this year, so if they never use him offensively he’s often not in the spot to get boards
Agreed, it is super annoying. Probably still need to hold it for now though
