So, I'm in a few $20 Yahoo H2H pay leagues. In the last month or so, I've had to lead the charge to veto two crappy deals between two GMs. One out of the playoffs and one in 1st place. Today, in another league, there's a pending deal for KCP/BroLo/Ish Smith for...Anthony Davis. Yes, I just formally protested that bucket of dolphin crap.
For you guys who are in pricier leagues, do these screwjob/collusionfests still happen. They got so bad in the free leagues, that now I only do Yahoo paid leagues. So far, I've only done the $20 leagues. Just curious if this crap happens in more expensive money leagues.
Yahoo which has been fair with vetoing this season has just denied my protest. This is f'n insane!!!
You gotta get into a league with people you know. I have zero of that stuff in any of my paid leagues. They are all $50 or higher. Some a decent amount higher. And all have commissioner veto authority. I'm also commish in most of my leagues. Trust no one. Haha.
It happens. I prefer a commissioner-powered veto system. Just join a league with a commish whom you trust.
Thanks, guys. I was pretty ticked off about this crap. Like I said, it's the whole reason I abandoned free leagues 2 years ago. You both have given me a bit to think about. 🙂
I'm in a bunch of Yahoo $250s. Haven't seen a trade anywhere near that lopsided in any of them all year. I think I've only seen about 2 vetoes (which I thought were borderline), very few protests of note. As the money gets higher, most of the participants know what they're doing and it becomes harder to make trades but they're generally closely balanced.
Of course, as people fall out of contention there's always the danger someone makes a stupid trade because they just don't care anymore or whatever, but haven't seen that happen much in prior years.
Generally I'm quite anti-veto, but the trade example you give is absurd and I'd certainly be protesting that too.
