Pick 2 based on ROS value and a need for boards/blocks:
- John Collins
- Marqueese Chriss
- Richaun Holmes.
I'm going Chriss, Collins, then Holmes. People are hating on Collins, but he's putting up 10 and 7 with a block in only 20 minutes. I think he'll break into the starting lineup before season's end and you could be looking at 15/10/1.5. Same school of thought for Chriss, but he's a lot more versatile than Collins and is already starting. He just needs to start hitting some shots and keep the fouling in check, and he should see more minutes and better lines.
We all know the situation with Holmes...he might be the best of these three on the list if they got equal minutes, but he's got the biggest roadblock in his way...at least right now. Of course, the second Embiid goes down, Holmes becomes must-own. I might be in the minority here, but I'm not stashing Holmes anywhere. I can't stomach empty lines while I pray for Embiid to break...even though I think it'll happen eventually. Holmes is unowned in 85% of Yahoo leagues (and dropping), so it's unlikely people are chomping at the bit to pluck him off the wire, where Collins and Chriss are owned in more than half of all leagues.
Chriss is IN, for sure.
Capt. makes a good point. I was actually at the Lakers-76ers game tonight and screamed 'RICHAUN' any time I saw him in the game. It wasn't frequent, and they really rode Embiid hard. Disappointing to say the least when Amir Johnson was logging mins in the 1st half.
I'm not sure about Collins in the starting lineup, though. Dedmon is flat-out balling right now. Still, for the moment, if you can't stomach zeroes, Holmes has to get the bench.
For context, this choice it to back up Joker and Nurk at the centre spot and shore up my boards and blocks over season long.
I've gone with Collins and Chriss for now. Their official role is to sit on my bench until they prove they can perform (probably Jan), so i don't need numbers from them at the moment. Holmes is under the microscope (more specifically, embiid is...) and as soon as the big man breaks, i'll toss Collins unless he's blown up by then.
