In a H2H 14 team 9Cat redraft league would you consider trading your 1st round pick if you are selecting after the 4th overall pick?
Would you trade that pick for the 2,3,4 rounds, so you will have 2 picks in 2nd, 3rd and 4th?
Would you take an offer like this or is the price too high for that 1st round pick?
I know a lot of guys that like to trade high picks for multiple later round picks. It's not a strategy that I prefer to utilize in basketball. It's different in other sports because in basketball just 2 or 3 guys can actually win it for you. There are some awesome rookies this year that will make an immediate impact.
If you are outside the top 7 i would consider trading first round for multiple 2/3/4 rnd picks.
Not top 4 though.
It really does depend how far out of the top 4 you are. 5th? No way. 11th? Yeah maybe. Where are the picks going to be in rounds 2/3/4? Lots of factors here.
IF the league is deep, NO.
IF it's a 12-team league, only outside the top-6.
That said, I would prefer to keep my pick and use an elite-level guy to carry my team in general.
Flipping this on its head a little... if you were in the dead zone of not really 1st rounders (8-11) would you trade your 1st and 2nd round to get a 1-5 pick?
Ie. 9+16 for a pick <5.
This is very interesting, one of the 5 leagues i am in the pick is number 7 in a 12 team H2H league. The team that wants my pick is at number 11 and I just found out number 10 pick is looking to trade. I put the demand out there for 2nd,3rd & 4th as must have in order to get my first pick.
@Vegemite I would do that deal in a heartbeat.
I think I would strongly consider trading my 10 and 15 picks for a top-4.
