If I am outside the playoffs right now, and nearing desperation mode - would it be insane to trade leonard for a second round level player that I will get more consistent games played?

This recent stretch of missing 4 straight games is killing me. What happened to the talk of him playing in b2b after the new year?

Given that I am 6 wins behind 6th place and the playoffs slipping away and without getting into a discussion about team build, how low of a ranked player would you consider trading leonard for?

This came up because someone approached me with a conley for leonard offer. This would be an easy no in most situations, but at least conley plays every game.

Conley wouldn't be enough for me; he might have some shutdown risk himself anyway. I'd first try for a late first-round guy like Lillard. But you'd probably have to wait at least until Kawhi plays in a game again. Tough to trade right now. Maybe even Lebron once he's back, which should be soon. Lakers are in a position where he's probably not going to be sitting many games once he's healthy again. In fact, because he and Kawhi are both still on the shelf, that might even be a one-for-one you could pull off right now, betting on the likelihood that Lebron will be less likely to be getting days off in the second half than Kawhi.

I think if Kawhi indeed comes back in this next game, you sit on him. If you're sitting right on the edge, you probably need to move other injured guys and start streaming slots!
