Hi All,
Got stuck bidding up a guy on Harden and had to pivot on the fly through the auction draft so I'm not super impressed with my depth. Shortly (within 1hr) after the draft, I floated a Harden for Giannis trade with the guy who I outbid for Harden (he was annoyed) and he accepted. SCORE!!! But this leaves the team with a bit of a weird balance.
Appreciate thoughts on where to go from here. And what additions/changes may help.
It's a 9-cat Roto league
Team is:
Chris Paul
Eric Gordon
Jeff Teague
Evan Fournier
Giannis (cbf spelling)
Robert Covington
Nikola Jokic
Zach Randolph
Ish Smith
Marqueese Chriss
Taurean Prince
Marvin Williams
Should add, there are a couple of potential trades kicking around.
Some interest in E-Gordon (could potentially get Mirotic, G.Harris, or Thad Young)
Some interest in Rob Covington (potentially for Tobias Harris)
A bit concerned about losing RoCo's money stats, but I don't think I can carry both RoCo and Gordons %'s in their high-volume environments.
Get Gary Harris if you can.
Thanks for your input Dan. Been enjoying the podcasts in the season lead up.
Surprise you didn't say Mirotic!
Though news today is a bit of a downer. In Hospital and out indefinitely!? that's an all new low!
Sigh.
Just means his breakout campaign will start a few weeks later.
Maybe a blessing in disguise.
We have 3 bench slots in our league and G.Harris and Miro are in the same team.
Worth a double trade?
E.Gordon + <who?> for Mirotic and G.Harris?
Might be able to upgrade the G.Harris option if I take Mirotic off him. Others on the same team:
Harry Barnes
Julius Randle
Vucevic
Smart
Brogdon
CJ Miles
Not a bad idea to try to trade for a hurt guy if you can handle stashing him
Appreciate some thoughts on wire options at the moment.
Contemplating a wire raid to replace either Ish or D.Murray, dont mind stashing for a month if need be so considering Niko and the better Morris. Options include:
- Niko Mirotic
- Markeiff Morris
- Nick Young
- G. Monroe
- D. Green
- Jerian Grant
A couple of tweaks after game 1, the team as it stands is below:
Chris Paul
Eric Gordon
Jeff Teague
Evan Fournier
Giannis (cbf spelling)
Robert Covington
Nikola Jokic
Zach Randolph
Ish Smith
Marqueese Chriss - Replaced with Dejounte Murray (no place for 12 min foul outs here!)
Taurean Prince
Marvin Williams - Replaced with Bo J.Ingles off the wire
That's a juicy waiver wire, my man!
I'd probably drop Ish Smith for Niko, Kieff, Monroe or Danny Green. I like all 4 of those guys. Not sure I'd have dropped Chriss after 1 bad game. They did lose by 50, after all.
Yeah, regretted the Chriss drop almost as soon as I did it. Though picked him up as one of my last $1 picks in the auction draft, and I doubt this game will have endeared him to the league. So I might be able to grab him back off the waiver (assuming he doesn't dominate the lakers). I'm pretty harsh on the kid, but maybe they wouldn't have lost by 50 if he stayed on the court more than 12 minutes.
Niko and Keiff aren't really on the radar for most of the league, and Monroe hurt me too much last season with his Henson timeshare. Green it is. Thanks for your input.
Green added, and Marquese Chriss brain fart rectified. The real concern now is how to manage the 2-4 week CP3 layoff. Giannis and Jokic can probably carry my assists but it could be >15 games so it will hurt.
As i see it, options are:
1. Sit tight and wait and slide teague into the PG slot to use up games (trust in giannis and jokic)
2. Look to trade for a 2nd string PG to supplement
3. Try an extract Thomas and cycle CP3/IT through the PG slot at season end
At the moment i'm leaning towards options 1. Thoughts?
Dieng just hit the wire too, so may flick dejounte for him.
Chris Paul - INJURED!
Eric Gordon
Jeff Teague
Evan Fournier
Giannis (cbf spelling)
Robert Covington
Nikola Jokic
Marqueese Chriss
Danny Green
Dejounte Murray
Taurean Prince
J. Ingles
I'm tempted to say don't worry too much about one particular category while CP3 is out. If you can just stay above water that's the real goal, and making a big move feels like it would probably hurt long term.
