Who's a better stash - Millsap or Vucevic? I'm close to securing a spot in playoffs in 9cat H2H(3 games ahead with 5 rounds to go), and am considering taking at least one, if not both off the wire. Thoughts?
I'd be dropping Moore and/or Prince.
When you say 3 games ahead, do you mean that you are 6th and 3 games ahead of the 7th place team? What does your team look like? How are your matchups over the next 2/3 weeks? What categories are you weak or strong in? That kind of information would help a lot.
BBM has Vucevic returning Feb 14th and Millsap returning Feb 23rd, keep in mind these are just estimates and nothing concrete.
If you think you can hang on and stay in a playoff position or be extremely close for one, I would stash both of them. Thinking 5 weeks ahead, if you could be in the playoffs and have those two guys added to your team at the cost of pretty much nothing, that should elevate your team. If I'm a team on the bubble of making it in, I would rather take a big shot and see where it goes instead of just trying to sneak in and lose in the first round.
Sorry to get long winded here but another thing to keep in mind is that these would be savvy moves from an asset accumulation standpoint. Whether you need their type of statlines or not, when these players are healthy, they are valued players. So if you can add valued players to your team at no significant cost, you do it and once they get some good games in, you can trade them for someone who fits your team needs better.
If I were to stash only one, it would be Vucevic, he is scheduled to be back sooner and I think he was having a better year than Millsap.
