SF/PF Dilemma

Hi all,

Hopefully, someone can assist with a dilemma I have.

I’m in a 16 team, 10 player, Head 2 Head comp, and having an issue where I have too many SF/PF players.

Currently sitting 5th, so I’m traveling along nicely, but I have Mirotic back shortly, so it means I have a logjam with the SF/PF position.

We only play 5 positions on a daily basis, so I’m finding that Thad Young is the odd man out when I have a full list to pick from.

I’m thinking about trading either Young, Gordon or Porter for a guard or centre.

Or I just keep them all??

What are your thoughts??

Aaron Gordon Orl - SF,PF
Allen Crabbe Bkn - PG,SG,SF
C.J. McCollum Por - PG,SG
Dewayne Dedmon Atl - C
Greg Monroe Pho - PF,C
J.J. Barea Dal - PG,SG
Jrue Holiday NO - PG,SG
Karl-Anthony Towns Min - C
Nikola Mirotic Chi - SF,PF
Otto Porter Was - SF,PF
Thaddeus Young Ind - SF,PF

I'm tempted to say keep 'em all until we see how Niko fares in his return...

I like your thinking Dan!

Keeping them all and seeing how Niko pans out was my first option, so having someone clarify is what I needed.

Let's hope Niko dominates!

So the plan was to sit on all the SF/PF guys and wait and see how Niko went, but I had someone offer me Reggie Jackson for Thad Young.

What do you think Dan??

I prefer Thad ... Reggie is really a 1-trick pony... but if you absolutely must, you can. I just think you could get more.

Ok, Dan, let me ask you a question.... 2 spots, 3 players. Thad Young, Otto Porter and Aaron Gordon. Which 2 do you start??

The issue I have is that Thad has been awesome, but he is sitting on my bench alot of the time, cause I roll with Porter and Gordon.

You could trade any of the 3. I say move whoever gets you the best deal.

Dan you're making this hard for me!

So the guy that has offered the trade has the following players.

R. Rondo NO - PG
L. Williams LAC - PG,SG
D. Green SA - SG,SF
W. Chandler Den - SG,SF,PF
P. Gasol SA - PF,C
R. Jackson Det - PG,SG
W. Matthews Dal - SG,SF
M. Gortat Was - C
J. Harden Hou - PG,SG
D. Waiters Mia - SG,SF
P. Millsap Den - PF,C

He isn't going to give up Harden, so not much of a counteroffer.

I might trade Thad for Lou Will, but otherwise that team is rough.

Yep Lou Will for Thad seems ok. Sweet Lou will feast while Blake is on the shelf. I know it's unlikely to get Harden but maybe try a 2-for-1? McCollum + Air Gordon for Harden? Something like that?

Thanks for the advice guys.

I offered McCollum and Gordon for Harden, so I'll see what he comes back with.

If that doesn't work for him then I'll try Williams for Thad.

So, guys, the plot thickens!

Haven't heard back from the guy that had Harden.

But I was just offered Cousins, Rubio and Henson for Anthony Towns.

What do you think??

That's a decent haul for KAT. But he's still the best player in the trade and you're giving him up so you'd rather not. Also, you're in the position of trying to consolidate players as opposed to adding more players into the squad so on that basis as well you'd probably have to say no.
