I'm in a 14-team ESPN H2H points league. We have a kind of wonky/unique scoring system: +1 for points, assists, defensive rebounds, fgm and ftm; +1.5 for OReb, blocks, and steals; +5 for triple doubles; +2 for double doubles; and -1 for fga, fta, and turnovers.
I basically need to win out the next 4-5 weeks to have a chance at the playoffs, but I figure, hey, why not keep it interesting.
Here's my roster: https://imgur.com/a/TBQ3X
I failed to pull off a 2 for 1 last week when Jabari came back off the IR, so if a big move happens I will need to drop someone (at least marginally) productive. Josh Jackson and Willy Hernangomez are currently on the wire.
So first question, are either worth dropping one of my players for?
Second, my team has been decimated by injuries most of the year (probably karma for drafting Jabari as a stash) but are now healthy, just as contenders in my league have lost Kristaps, Love, and Wall etc. Do I still try to pull off a 2 for 1, and hope someone misses a post-deadline pick up in a few days?
Third, do I just hold out, assuming someone else will get hurt, save my IR spot and keep my depth?
Thanks in advance
As a side question/note: Would a Kyrie and Love (straight to IR) for DLo and Turner (he wants Gobert) be worthwhile?
Also I managed to trade a then-hurt Griffin and Eric Gordon for PG13, and (maybe bragging) John Henson and Delon Wright for Myles Turner and Dinwiddie. Not important to this question, but fun to mention I guess.
At the risk of talking through my own question, the scoring heavily favors bigs (un-unleashed John Collins is averaging almost as much as Schroeder), the teams with recent high profile injuries have lost high profile bigs, and my team has a number of serviceable to very good bigs, so as underperforming as my team has been (last pick of the first round) I have a surplus of valuable trade chips.
For the first question, I think if someone TRULY magical came along, James Johnson is the drop. Your team looks pretty deep, so I'm not sure anyone is going to jump JJ for potential upside, but hey, ya never know. I still think your best bet is to keep plugging away at 2-for-1s.
DLo is garbage, so I'd take the Kyrie side in that deal.
