I have nic batum in 12 team 9cat h2h... And I've been holding onto him since the beginning of the season and he's starting to become a nuisance... I think I'm going to drop him because it looks like I can't trade him for anything. Should I stand pat or use that spot to stream for someone like dotson or Knox this week since they play 4 games this week.

Batum has got to be the most boring player in fantasy this season, right? Doesn't have a single category where you look at his number and think "well at least he's helping me there" . . . and yet, he's clinging to standard league value, because he also doesn't have a single category where he's obviously killing you either (maybe points). In a 12 team or shallower (and especially in h2h) he's certainly droppable for someone with upside or just for a streaming spot. There's a decent chance that no one will claim him off waivers either, so you might be able to pick him back up again easily if you change your mind.
The only league where I own him is a 16 team roto, too deep to drop him, so I'm holding. He's not going to finish at his Yahoo preseason rank of 70, but I would bet on him beating his current rank of 125. Wouldn't be surprised if he snuck inside the top 100 by season's end, or finishes just outside.
The thing is, he's actually a guy you could make a case for trading *for* in leagues where you don't own him, especially as the second or third guy in a 2-for-2 or 3-for-3 trade. He's the perfect kind of guy to tack on in those multiplayer deals to add some sneaky value.
It's tough but I'd consider him a drop in 12 team leagues, especially if you're in 11th place. You have to hunt for bigger upside, or at least sell him in a trade on name value.
^ Agreed, if you're near the bottom of the pack, you have to swing for the fences on some guys with higher upside; you can justify dropping in those situations. Batum right now is best suited for roto leagues with game caps, if you've got a well-balanced, competitive team and just want a safe guy you can put in a UTIL spot who won't kill you anywhere.
Yeah, in a vacuum he's a hold but if you're getting stomped you may need to make some moves and go for max games.
