Your logic is sound. I would do that deal. Butler does also miss time for this and that injury though. However, those are still unsure whereas the likelihood of Kawhi missing the second game of a back-to-back is probable.
Sorry for the late reply. It's been a busy week for me. I would have ideally wanted to ask for an upgrade to White, but I'm iffy that he will agree. Gobert is a good get but you're also giving up a ton of points in the process. Still, asking for White is the play.
Hi Erik, is it too soon to panic and sell Embiid? My playoffs are the last 3 weeks of the season and they have 3 B2B sets so Im concerned they sit him in one or more of those. If so, would a 1 for 1 for Gobert be wise?
It's still early enough that you can probably ask for more than just Gobert. Try to do a 2:2 and squeeze some value on the kicker-end of the deal.
So looking at his roster, heres a cfew trades I would be interested in doing:
Embiid/Collins(or Harrell) for Gobert/Markkanen
Embiid/Bridges(or Barton) for Gobert/Smart(or Ariza)

IF you want to shed the headache of Booker's uncertain and shaky injury status, I'd go with that deal. That said, I would be remiss if I did not suggest a 2:2 where you win in the kicker as a counter first.
As long as the Sixers are in the hunt for a better seed in the East, Embiid should play. He's getting an extended rest right now but should eventually return. It's a fair deal but yes, slightly risky.
