I’m the bank and commissioner of a 9-cat, 16 team, H2H League in Yahoo! Trades are commissioner only veto.
It’s on its second year.
I almost never veto, but this did not sit too well with me and I’d like hear the community’s thoughts.

I vetoed this:
#1 team gets Dragic, Jarrett Allen
Team out of playoff race gets Brook Lopez, Clarkson

Hmm... any decent fantasy owner wouldn't give up the top two dudes for that, but maybe if the out-of-playoffs team believed super hard that LA was about to let Lopez loose and he'll just go off?
Don't know why they'd believe that though.

Hm. A little weird. I'm surprised such a team is even logging in, any more.

I'm not sure if that's a veto so much as it just seems one of the teams doesn't really know what they're doing.

Agreed it should be vetoed. Simply too lopsided to be true.

If this is a keeper league, I can see someone thinking that Clarkson is in line for heavy usage next season if LeBron leaves town, which could make him a decent get. If it's not a keeper, even though it's not a great trade to anyone in this thread, that doesn't mean the guy getting BroLo feels that way. I loathe the veto unless there's obvious and/or provable collusion at play, and this one doesn't rise to that level, in my opinion.

Hey all. Sorry I'm a week late to this party but just thought I'd leave my $0.02 worth.

In my opinion this is not a veto-worthy trade. I very much dislike vetoing trades unless there is obvious collusion involved or the trade is hugely hugely unbalanced (I'm talking 1st round superstar for chump change). In this case I don't think either is in play, unless both the managers know each other and are good friends. And even if they are it's not necessarily obvious collusion either.

On a per game basis, Dragic (top-120) & Jarrett (top-180) for BroLo (top-140) & Clarkson (top-160) looks maybe slightly in favour of the Dragic side, especially if as most Hoobers believe JA will be let loose as the new starting center. But of all four players only BroLo has top-30 upside. What if the receiving manager thinks Nance going to Cleveland frees up BroLo to get bigger minutes? What if he thinks Clarkson will fair much better on the Cavs?

So in my view there is too much ambiguity to conclusively say that there is obvious collusion happening here, and the trade is not so lopsided enough to warrant a veto.

PS. An example vetoable trade for me is one that happened in my 13-team roto league where a mid-ranked team received Giannis & LaMarcus for John Wall & Jaylen Brown from a bottom-ranked team.
