I wouldn't call dropping Millsap a panic drop. His initial assessment was 2-3 months and that was as of Nov 23. Three months, puts him at Feb 23...and that might just be until he resumes basketball activities. It could be a couple weeks from then till he's playing and a few weeks after that till he's close to himself. So, it could very realistically be March or April until he's giving you the value you want. By then, your league season may have finished.

Granted, his injury doesn't have the most accurate timetable, so maybe it's possible he beats the timetable. In leagues without an IR spot, personally, I would not be holding him all season in the HOPES that I get a week or two of value out of him. However, since you have an IR spot..as long as you don't have other long-term injured guys on your team (Russell, Hardaway, Curry, Blake, Booker, Whiteside, etc.) that you need the spot for, might as well pick him up. Definitely don't drop LaVine as he's nearing a return. I'm fine with dropping either Nance or Chriss in place of him...probably Chriss at this point. However, I wouldn't burn a decent waiver priority to pick him up. In fact, I probably would roll the dice and not put a claim on him at all, and see if he just sits on the wire for a while. Maybe nobody picks him up right now, in which case you could wait a month or so down the road and still milk some negligible value from Nance or Chriss.

Yeah, in a league with a games cap he shouldn't have been dropped. In an unlimited daily league, I'd try to grab him when the calendar year turns and hope it's a 5-6 week hold. You need to be in good playoff position to pull that off, of course.

He’s still sitting and I have Lavine in my IR. so when Lavine is Back I’ll swap my streamer spot for lavine and depending on millsaps prognosis I’ll add him to my IR spot if embiid or The Brow haven’t already beaten him to it or look for another hot FA or drop!
